Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show 2019

#1 Post by kpke » Thu Apr 25, 2019 10:45 am

Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show
April 28, 2019, 10am-4pm, Half Moon Bay Airport

I am about 80% committed to going to this this year. I have been to the last three.

Regardless it's a fantastic multifaceted show of all kinds of neat stuff.

From their website

There are car shows, air shows, motorcycle shows, tractor shows, maker fairs, music festivals, food festivals, and living history festivals galore. Mix them all together in one venue on one day and you’ve got Half Moon Bay California’s remarkable, one and only Pacific Coast Dream Machines Show—marking its 29th year in 2019 with a massive celebration of mechanical ingenuity, power and style.

Love your LE...Its absolutely the ONLY new Yamaha, since my 88 FZR EXUP 1000 that I've wanted. (I'm not including OWO1s etc..)
You made a good choice buying one...the price is rock solid on them.
If I recall it's the last of the old school inline 4s right, pre cross plane motor in the L.E. ?
Banshee (Baja) race bike,+ 2 A Arms,L.E.Ds, Toomey, +4 stroker IMS tank, run flats.
96 GSXR SRAD, Future Yoshimura rep.
85 custom Tri-Z
RZ/YZR bike(project)
86 VFR750 RC24 Merkel replica (project)
Royal Enfield Bullet 500

Thanks Charlie. I did get into the quail so I will be there Saturday :smt004

Questo, I think 09 was the first year of cross plane in the R1. I don't follow some of these details too closely.

Quite a smorg of combustion engines at this event - great to see. Firing up your 500 twice was a treat. Noted one 30-ish male (biker?) in the foreground of the 2nd vid appeared mystified when the 2stroke smoke happened. That was entertaining.

Always love your photos Ken. We're still dealing with freezing temperatures, snow, and cold rain here and I've spent the entire winter going over your photos on both RZ forums while wishing I was there.

You bikes are beautiful. I've lusted over that 500 for some time.

Thanks guys for the comments and compliments.

John, sometimes I wonder if anybody looks at the photos I post but I keep putting them up. Glad to hear someone is looking at them. They are a bit repetitious as my normal ride (a bit of a fix that is required) on weekends is the 100 mile round-trip up to the Lick Observatory and back. BTW, your bikes :smt007 :smt045

LC Cnd, the 500 was fired up 8 or 10 times. My next-door neighbors there probably got sick of it. Some of the "kids" don't know WTF a two-stroke is. Why do you have these pipes on your R6? The reactions and discussions are a lot of fun. In the second startup video in that YouTube, look at the chatty girl. She was a hot rod CBR600 chick :smt005 and was completely mystified at the kick starter, as are a lot of people. The R1 and the RZ350 were never started although there was plenty of discussion on those bikes also.
