My deepest condolences. He will be sorely missed.

His contribution to the 2 stroke community cannot be understated. He was giant in the Gamma world (and RZ500) and known worldwide for his work and his willingness to help anyone that approached him. I had the pleasure of speaking with him on several occasions. I had hoped to visit him when visiting my family in South Carolina this summer. I am full of regret for not doing it sooner. His legacy will live on for many years in the bikes he has touched and the many people he has influenced.

I am in shock. He wasn't that old. Spent many a weekend down there riding bikes and touring the twisties with him. He let me rides his Gammas and he took my RZ500 for a blast and actually liked it :) His guidance will be missed.

Rest in peace, my friend....
One phone conversation, and we were immediately friends.
We talked several times about bikes, and lots of other stuff.
I'll do everything I can to finish the RZV500 the way we talked about.
Rick had very strong opinions about what should be done, and what shouldn't. :smt003
I feel very lucky to have known a legend like Rick Lance.
But, it's a very tough blow. I was supposed to go first. I never expected this.

Condolence to his family and friends.
Although I didn’t know him, I of course have heard and read about Rick Lance Gamma. We will miss the man, his knowledge and know how.
Rest in peace.

That is some seriously bad news. I’ve known Rick for 25 years or more, always helpful and eager to talk. I was going to call him today.
He will be sorely missed.

Very sad news :smt010 What a huge loss to the community.

He rebuilt my engine and like others we spent quite a bit of time on the phone.

Can anyone share what happened?

I was moved to hear of him passing. We didn't always get along but always respected him as a tuner. The community has lost one of the good ones.

I am saddened to hear the news... Having met Rick in the mid '90's when he was living in Yucaipa, CA - he always was available to help with anything "Gamma" and would always share his bikes, experiences, advice and expertise. Many years had passed after he moved to North Carolina and I called him for some RZ500 advice, and like back in the 90's, we talked for hours, he offered up some parts I was looking for and gave me more advice than I knew I would need. He was a fine man and will be missed by many - my sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

What a loss. A Gamma Guru who will be greatly missed and remembered for his helpfulness and expertise. Gone far too soon. Thanx for always being there, RIP Rick

Rick Lance was my brother. He was a giant. He was the nicest, most outgoing and positive man I’ve ever met. He was genuine. He was also a devout Christian whose knowledge of Gammas was dwarfed by his knowledge of the Bible and Jesus’ teachings. Rick really only had two facets: Gammas and his Faith. He loved all of you in the Gamma (and RZ500) community. He spoke so often of his customers I feel like I know them all. Rick lived a glorious life doing what all the rest of us could only dream about on certain weekends. Rick never had a bad day. Even while suffering from late stage colon cancer, he took your phone calls and replied to texts/emails/posts until his vision failed. The last weeks of his life were excruciating, but Rick was faithful to his last breaths. Rick Lance was my brother and I’m very proud of him. Peace
