"Here is the information on RG500's sold in Canada:
870 RG500G's were sold by Suzuki Canada
The first VIN was 0G2100012, the last was 9G2100882
There were 99 Walter Wolf models imported and sold
The first VIN was 0G2100883 and the last one was 2G2100982"
That is not very many at all. No wonder they are so hard to track down.

Re: RG500 for sale Toronto
There is data available, but so far I've found nothing that can 100% nail down production numbers.
From my file I have this as sent to me by Steve Jackson
The 52x model RZ500 were Canada only bikes but a lot made their way to the USA as they were never sold there.
The first batch of bikes was the RZ500N model which got to Canada in April 1984.This batch of "47x type spec" bikes numbered just 500.The vin number went from 52x000101/52x000600.
The second batch of bikes was the RZ500RN model which got to Canada in November 1984.This batch had the "1ge type spec" and numbered 1400.The vin number went from 52x004101/52x005500.
The third batch of bikes was the RZ500S model which got to Canada in early 1985 and is very rare. Only 150 of these bikes made. The vin number went from 52x007101/52x007250.
The total amount of 52x bikes made is 2050.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then I have this from a source I can't recall
RZ500 Production Info
RZV500R Vin 51X000101-002700 1984 (51X) First production run (47x spec parts)
RZV500R Vin 51X020101-021200 Late 1984/85 (1GG) Second production run (1ge spec parts)
Yamaha only made the rd/rz/rzv500 between March 1984 and late 1985.
The RZ500S (52X) was the last production run of just 150 bikes in late 1985 and sold as a 1986 model only in Canada

I have this, which I believe I found on this forum
Re: RG500 for sale Toronto
Thank you for that reply. Very through! Lots of info, some differences in the info but basically "not very many" as compared main stream 4 stroke bikes. Makes you wonder just how many still exist? That being said I wonder why there were ultimately fewer RG's over here? I'm assuming they had a higher price tag but defiantly offered some pretty initiative stuff.

Re: RG500 for sale Toronto
Suzuki also brought in very few RG250s. I think they realized the market here was very small and focused more on Europe.
