ph4824, you should get a manual or use this site http://www.rzv500r.net/HTML/manual.html for on-line reference.
IMO a manual would be your best bet to answer a lot of the basics.

So who all is going? I'm gonna have a drink in Oldguy's absence. (But if you show, I'll buy you one or six!) Damn you Larry! Just rubbing it in aren't you! Seriously, in my absence, have one for me as it would have been a pleasure to be there with the group on the 500. Have a great time and lets se...

Walt, first off WELCOME to the group. I'm no expert of anything but have learned a lot from these guy's and I'm sure you will to. 1. You may want to consider replacing the fuel lines as they can become rather brittle after 25 years and even a new clamp won't seal it off. 2. They are very reli...

Well the new owner left my house about 11:00am this morning on his 12 hour journey back home in N. California. We spent a good couple of hours talking 2 strokes and going over what I knew of the bike and loading it on his trailer. Hard to see it go but I feel it is going to a good owner that will fi...

Larry, just a thought, there are some stock used ones on fleabuy.
Some 38's and Canadian 40's.

Well I just checked, none listed from the guy in Canada. Normally there are a couple on there on any given week.

Thanks Guy's. I'll keep the peeper popping in!!!!! I got a call from him today and he is to be here to pick up the bike on Thu around lunch time to go over the details and talk some 2 stroke. He's excited! Then a 10-11 hour drive back home  Just an FYI I just got back from Chicago for what I ...

Well it sold.........

It's hard to figure out the buying/bidding cycle of auctions and sometime it seams to be hit & miss. Anyway my bike sold in the last minute of auction to a guy in Northern California for the starting bid. We talked over the phone this morning for a good 30-45 minutes and he appears to be a reall...

Steve, that last pic would have looked great if you were a little lower when releasing the shutter. Your mutt would have been "on the bike".
Nice set up configuration by the way, I love it. Can't wait to see the sheep in wolfs clothing.
Good Job!

Cheers
Aaron :???:
Per the YAMAHA service manual 300cm (10.6 Imp oz., 10.1 US oz.) 5 wt.

Though I put 20wt and it made a huge difference.
Damn, didn't need my glasses for that one!
