WICKED MOTORSPORTS BUDGET STOCK CYL +4mm 385CC RZ 73HP/41TQ

#1 Post by wicked motorsports » Thu Jun 17, 2010 3:37 am

hey Guy's after all the Crazy wasted time and frustration I wanted to come back on with a fresh start. I decided to Yank Old Yella from the Field of my dead bikes i need to fix lol.... So i said lets build a +4mm RZ on Stock Cylinders on the Poor mans budget! Well at least try lol... I might not be too cheap with my own stuff lol... I'm going to walk you guy's threw a 2 week build of a RZ350 Converted to a +4mm 385cc with Dyno charts!

So here where the Build Started Sunday night Frustrated at home so i decided to Pull Old Yellow out and get Busy! Now i might Convince some of you to build such motor nor i might not. Either way i wanted to shed some light in building one and i hope this turns out fun for you guy's as well

So let me introduce you to Old Yella. As you can see the RED ATF Fluid Being drain after the attempt of fixing and cleaning a blown up clutch. I had to scratch my head wondering why it was red at 1st I forgot why i had done that but then it came to me. Sense i park the bike over a Year ago.Image

Question?? Any one know where this tank is from? I bought this Bike from a guy in Colorado several years ago. lol... You can see the Film of Dust.

Image

15 Minutes later....
Image

45Minutes later lol....
Image

Here we go! the Fun Begins!
Image

Busted out my CSI Skills and found out why it quit running. Something as easy 1,2,3 Bore pistons and done lol.... thou i didn't want stock lol.... It had cast piston that gave up on the left sitting on the bike. looks like maybe running it a tad too hard in the over revs trying to get them 4-strokes and keep up with my Buddies RZ500 lol... Oopps Image

Bores still look Cherry 64.75mm Look at the Hone marks on the Exhaust side. Come to Find out I had a SPecII Port Job as well... But the Left cylinder took a little scar up and down so going to take it the next size 65mm.

Image

Crank still looking like a top! I should of just bored it lol.... O well.....Image

Here's the Clutch side. Looks like my up grade and ATF worked out. I remember how Disgusting it looked when it blew up. I also up graded the clutch with one of ours. 3 Medium Springs and 3 Heavy Springs.Image

HA HA...!! I already had installed the Clutch Pusher as well!! Thank god i did! Look at the indention it already has. Been tearing up this motor hard! and Feather the crap out of the clutch lol... Wheelie King Bike! Ok Ok Ok.... the truth is I really wanted to blow it up HAHAAHAH We all say I'm waiting till it blows so i can build it lol.....

Image

Basket and Inner Hub look just fine for as many miles it has. Little wear but does not look like a shark took a bite out of it and grooved it where the plates would stick. Maybe I'll throw a sand roll at it.

Image

Well hello clutch we meet again......... :smt011
Image

So not too bad for 9968 Miles Thou i seen signs of it been open before crank is already trued and welded. Going to guess SPecII did it before?
Image

Wow maybe that's why it was such a turd shifting lol..... ATF was flushing out all the crap from the clutch lol...Image

What a Mess.......
Image

So blam!!! a solvent tank can handle a big mess.
Image
Image

I leave you with this for now till I get another chance to slam the hammers at the Wicked 385 RZ Build. Reminds me why i love My two Strokes so... Much! :smt007Image

Can't wait to ride the Orange 750H2 next week the Frame is A H1 500 I hope to have it running for some test and tune next week and see what we can do It'll be music to my ears when it fires off!:smt020
I had to blur the RD400R1 Hybird It's a Build for a magazine I'd get busted if I posted it lol...Image

Really enjoyable seeing it all come apart, will be even better to see it come back together. :)

Can i ask a couple of questions...

1, you say that the crank is already trued and welded, can you point out that in the pics? I ask as Id love to know how to tell that has been done.

2, you used a solvent bath... did you leave the shifter parts in the case when you did that and if so, why not rip em out and redo them if youre down this far? not being funny, just interested for when I do my engines. :)

Very interested to see how this engine is built and will perform! :smt023

2 of my RZ engines could have porting by SpecII, but I don't know how to identify it.

In the spirit of warm and fuzzy cooperation here, if you want a certain thickness alloy spacer to position the cylinders easily with a stock gasket each side, I have the laser setup and can bang some out in just about any size that plate is manufactured.

I'd rather ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow.

Can you get into this ATF thing for a bit? I'm just wondering if this would bennifit a 26 year old bike that more than likely has some crap in the cases. Do you just put some in and run it for a bit then change it out?
