SCREAMER wrote:please jay more on erv kanamoto & the john britten(RIP) story would be great, its realy good of you to share this kind of stuff as bud asklund & erv kamamoto is the reason i got involved in building my rz for club level racing & i lived the dream for a little while when i was young enough to have no fear other than the fear of destroying my bike during practice & not make the race.
i never had a spare bike like the factory racers all have so preservation was all important with two dozen rz,s & a half dozen nsr 400,s to do battle with.
i never was a fan of the mean green tripples because of the lack of lean angle but it seems youve taken care of that issue.
so please keep the stories comming, its making me want to keep my bikes & run for the checkers again.
thanks for keeping my dreams alive
ok i will get to it asap. sounds like u got a storie or 2 as well we will have to trade. ok seyaby

My spelling sucks too. I use spell checkers religiously. The FireFox web browser spell checks on the fly, even in the forum posts. I could not live without it.

Some people are wired for spelling. I'm not. Never have, never will. So you won't see me complaining! :)

YEP JAY , ive got some stories after over 25 year of being a student of the two stroke racing world but no where as interesting as what you brought to our forum.
i never got to personaly meet anyone in the grand prix wars.ive got 100,s of videos from when two strokes were the meanest ,evil machines on our planet to look back on when the racing season if over with.
i did get to see the lucky strike kenny roberts team with kevin magee race @ my local track one time. :smt020
500 gp bikes ran away from team hammers suzuki,s gsxr as soon as the green flag waved :smt007
then @ the gp @ laguna seca where magee did the post race burn out only to have bubba shobert rear end him & end bubba,s racing career :smt009
its a sad story as flat track racer bubba was almost as good as freddie spencer but never has any one done what fast freddie had done winning the 250 & 500 class in the same year.
all due to erv tuning the hondas & freddy always trusting his honda im sure.
original owner of the roberts replica

wow we could shoot the shit for a while ha? me and my dad were 60 yards from bubba when the plastic flew.i will never forget that sound.remember when KR and mamola would pull their wheels to togather and ride through the gears up under the goodyear bridge at 180 mph 2 ft from each other. shit that was somthin
