I agree with you Pete and have had similarly wrapped parcels. The thought of moving there appeals as well, great food and people, plus we are tragics for their old cars and bikes :)

Can't do any more until the 4mm, 5mm, and 6mm ID spacer tubing arrives.

Need to cut all the bolts and eyebolts, 11 spacers, and 4 washers.

Should be interesting. :smt003

Secured the front reservoir for drilling out the mounting threads.

Image

Difficult part will be clamping it to my primative drill press, in proper alignment.

Also, I may not be able to get enough new threads, even with a bottoming tap.

Tubing arrived from Hong Kong for the coil brackets.

Pulled the same coil from another project so I could make a square setup. With this setup I can measure the lengths for the (4) 5mm ID tubes, and the M5 bolts.

Smoker,
I notice that this project you started over 12 years ago now has 154 pages, 2300 posts and well over half a million views. I'm sure I'm not the only one who is blown away by your attention to design & detail. How about a few teaser pics of the bike?

I don't work that way. :smt102

When I finish a custom part, I don't leave it on the bike. I box up the finished part and move on to the next one.

The mockup engine and some finished parts are on the bike atm for measuring and routing the wiring, cables, and hoses. Otherwise, it's just a bare frame on the floor.

Working on locating the coil and making brackets. Need to install the fuel tank to see if there's enough room (yellow).

This is an old pic posted long ago, before the frame mods were done.

The bike will look pretty much like this.

This one might also give you an idea.

Hi Pete ,

Hope you are doing ok.

Follow your heart man and make your dream come alive.

That is going to be a sick one of a kind bike.

All the best

Thanks, Petros. Glad you're still around and riding cool bikes.

44 pieces of hardware to mount the coil.

14 pieces cut and hand filed/sanded to length.

I'll bet you formerly worked for the aero-defense industry, right?

Just joking around don't get too hot on this comment- It's more about the US Gov than you.

Drilled out the front brake reservoir M6 threads and tapped for M8 with bottoming taps.

Image

Inserted an M8 to M5 reducer. Will Loktite it on final assembly.

Image

Started with an 8mm threaded spacer. Already cut it down to less than 3mm. Still to large. Will probably need to go to 2mm. Very hard to handle the tiny part.

Nope. Medical/Surgical/Anesthesiology.

I am looking at a nice titanium hammer, though. :smt003

Yellow coil mounting position didn't have enough clearance to the fuel tank. Maybe 1-2mm. Moving on to the blue location.

Was going to make a flat electrical panel for the M-Unit and CDI box, but I think a 3D panel will be better. Got a Christmas Eve delivery of carbon fiber angle.
