Hi Folks,
I've got an 83 frame that I'm going to use to use as a basis for a new build - following R/W US Kenny Roberts style/colours. I'm going to piece it together from parts I've collected from an 83 and 85 Canadian Bike. I rebuilt the engine over the winter and put it in storage as this isn't going to be a quick project. I've got lots of other projects - so my plan is to tackle this one component at a time - as all of my parts are in need of full clean-up and restoration. This bike is going to be a rider not a show piece - so it will be respectable but no plans for perfection.
I painted / 2K cleared the frame which came out better than expected so next up is forks and swingarm. I have both of these parts from the 83 and 85 bikes and wanted to ask if the 85 parts are considered better than the 83? I believe the 85 CDN bike uses the same swingarm/forks as the 86+ model whereas the 83 parts would be the same as the US 84-85 KR bike.
I'd like to stick with the forks from the 83 if they perform similarly as I know the front fender is different and I have a nice original one that would fit the 83 forks but not the 85. As far as the swingarm goes - I'm assuming both are compatible with my frame/brake and wheels - so curious to know if one is better than the other?
Any advice appreciated!

You can fit the 83 fender on the later 85+ fork , just bolt it on the fork brace like the 85+ fender , I did it on one of my bike
