2nd jetting run. Build up and info on this link including the demise of the RH piston and subsequent top end replacement with my spare fresh top end.

Yes it is. Sorting and getting rid of 50 years of various things that Daddy kept for vehicles and equipment we no longer have is a long process. I like the TMs but this is my 1st experience with flat slides so the learning curve is pretty steep.

Several test rides later. We are at one lean on the needle now. No time to test ride today. It is very close now I think. Before you had to be very quick getting the enricheners off or risk fouling a plug. Now you have to leave them on for 30 seconds or so until the engine speed decreases and then push them in.

Sounds good. Are you done tuning the carbs?

Went up one more to 250 main jets to see if it would pull them and it pulls harder. Then when I pulled up to an intersection and put the turn signals on the engine misfired until I turned them off. I barely made it home. Battery voltage was 8.5 DC. I consulted with M in SC and told him I saw the upper alternator brush arcing while revving the engine. He said change the brushes and see if that fixes it. I went and got a brush assembly off one of my parts stators and changed it. 13.65 revving engine lights off on a fully charged battery. 14.5 to 15.5 Volts DC with headlight on high beam, brake mashed and turn signals on. :)
Last picture is 240 main jet plug chop. I am very well pleased with the results. The bike runs better than it ever has. More power and better driveability through out the range. One kick starting from cold with enricheners on. I got the carbs cheap. I am at $600 total for the carbs and all the brass plus the intakes. And I still have a spare TM32 that may end up on my Blaster..
