Yamagamma, dinosaur or still relevant.

Post by Krusty350 »

Just refreshed my Yamagamma after not riding it for 6 years.
Built a few other hybrids lately so curious to see if the old Gamaha can keep up.

Didn`t see a whole lot of these back in the day but nearly extinct now, only know of one other locally so wondering how many are still around.

Interested to hear what you think compared to the TZR, that would be a 250 version of direct competitor i guess?

The TZR in the pic with the Yamagamma is also a 350 hybrid.

I found that the stock TZR250 1KT 2MA was faster and handled better than the stock RG250s I owned.
With the same 350 ypvs engine in both chassis they now perform similar but the TZR still handles better.

Then again I`m pushing 60 years old so don`t have to ride em like I stole em anymore....

I have just as much fun on the Yamagamma as the TZR350 and just completed a RD350LC with ypvs engine so have a few choices.

Wow, didnt know you could shoe horn the 350 into the TZR.

Sounds like you have all bases covered! :)

If I can do it anybody can, ha ha.

Simple build, just need a custom cradle and exhaust from there its just sorting the little things.
About 10 years ago I sent Glyn at GPL Racing the TZR roller and he built me a custom cradle and set of pipes.
