Triumph calipers for my RZ

#1 Post by krrzowner » Tue Feb 16, 2021 9:37 pm

Hey guys...... I have an 84 RZ350 KR , I want to upgrade the front brake system. I have read all the forum posts about this and I think I want to go the Triumph caliper route. I dont really think I need the R1 rotors and Blue spot caliper with the adapter bracket mod. I dont ride my bike that often.
I want to just keep the OEM rotors and mount the Triumph calipers. I have rebuilt my MC and have braided lines already.

SO ... from what I read these calipers mount to our stock fork legs with NO modifications, CORRECT ??? And to be sure Im buying the right calipers, I found some on ebay for an 99-06 Daytona 955i, this is what I need and will fit ??????? Do the brake lines mount correctly, I dont need longer lines ?? No type of interference ???

Please let me know, thanks. Ill try to add the ebay link, Im not so good at trying to add pics to this site. [img][img]https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-HIAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg

No, that is not correct. They are a bolt on if you have 83 mm caliper bolt spacing. Your 1984 RZ350 does not have 83 mm caliper bolt spacing. For that you need the 1985 non-US RZ350 or 1986-1990 RZ350. You will need adapter plates or different forks to use Triumph (Nissin) calipers with your 1984 RZ350.

For early RZ forks the only way to modern brakes is the NK Racing spacers and R1 calipers.
