Whos to say? After his awful accident at Suzuka this year & being snubbed by Honda I didnt think hed ever ride again. Now a contract signed w Ducati and now appears hes signed a PR & management firm. No doubt he has the skill. So perhaps hes testing the waters. A few years of BIG $ can quickly dwindle with a sudden lifestyle change and various expensive ventures w $ going out and none coming in. Say what you will about his personality, but it would be great for racing.

Don't see it. At most he will do some selected wild card rides just for fun.

Brother, youd be amazed at how fast the cash flow dwindles, especially for indaviduals whos big earnings come from only a 3-5 year career. Being and working in and around Hollywood you see fotunes squandered, its not always mismanagement, but the large costs to run ones PR campaign, newfound lifestyle and responsibilites and accociated expenses , keeping $ takes $.
Stoners case who knows? Ive read he spent millions on a quite large home in Oz and one in England as well,? Im guessing he spent some serious $$ on his car racing endevor, that never seems to work out well for motorcycle racers. Eddie Lawson and Jeff Ward come to mind.
Fact is, Im very surprized he recovered from his Suzuka accident so quickly and his rapid split w Honda back to Ducati. My beleif is its about money to sustain his lifestyle, aint nothing wrong with that. If Rossi & Pedrosa can still do it, Stoner can as well. He was/is a upper echelon rider.no doubt. Moto GP could do well with him returning.

You didn't mention Cecotto, or Surtees.

True, Great racers in their time. But that was literally 60 years ago in the case of John. Hard to compare 6 decades of progress. Rossi however just won another Rally car event, IMO rally car drivers are some of the best drivers on the planet.
I think people whom like racing, will try to race just about anything..lol

Casey has said definately no full time ride, but I was suprised at Honda saying no to a fill in ride for pedrosa and thought about it, what would the repercussion if Stoner raced, a retired track day tester and beat Marquez
which is entirely possible, Honda made the right move to save face and not demoralize their #1 rider

Also now it will be interesting to see how Marquez goes in 2016 without Stoner testing his bike and setup

While I'm not a Stoner fan I'm of the opinion he can beat Marquez. I actually would like to see him return for a full season.

Not taking away from Marquez but he did walk into Casey 's bike and team fresh after a championship and had him test the bike all year.Honda was worried he would make Marquez look silly
