If you go special construction give some serious attention to snowmobile engines. Some of the bigger twins will easily hit over 200hp, hook it up to a Baker transmission ($$$ but you wouldn't have to spend a ton on the engine to get the power). Just food for thought, I'm no expert on sled engines but was always fascinated by the Tularis concept.

South_oz As for production classes are the Banshee cylinders considered factory OEM?? If so they can be modified to lots of different strokes and bores.

I ran Banshee cylinders that I modified to have triple exhaust ports in the AMA Road Race series in the 80's. That bike won the Championship many years in a row.

Once you figure the class out give me a shout.

Hey Tony, rules say Motor Cycle Parts only. :(

"ENGINE CLASSES
Shall be comprised of major parts and components designed primarily for use in motorcycle engines."

If I can find a site that says the after market Big Bore kits are made for "Banshee/RZ Yamaha" I might be able to talk them into letting me run them but I think OEM Banshee barrels are out.

Aussie records are pretty soft in the 350 and 500 class.

In the States the records are much higher.

Ill need to get in touch with the "Chief Motor Cycle Scrutineer" and see what his call is on it.

Sorry for the delay. Heres some pics of the Top mount. All done by the PO. As I said looks to be well thought out and strong enough.

Ive sent an email off to the MC Scrutineer for conformation on the rule concerning using Banshee parts.

Just got a reply from the Chief Motor Cycle Scrutineer. He doesn't consider the head and barrels as major components of the motor so all good.

"Do you consider them to be major components? I don't. If you were to use a whole banshee motor? I would say no, but cylinders pistons and heads
seems to fit in the rule"

LOL, the banshee motor is a minor evolution (some say a backwards step LOL!) of the YPVS, but I know what he means :)

The aftermarket Banshee cylinders like the Cheetah Cub have more advanced port layout than the OEM YPVS ones.

The Banshee transmission is a completely different ratio and would not work.
