In Canada the 17-digit VIN came into effect April 1st of 1983 and the first batch landed here just prior. I have '83 RZs with both 9 & 17-digit numbers. The popularity of the RZ combined with the carnage of Lightweight Production racing means there's probably more than a few with new frames out there...

Rocket Motorcycles was a non-franchised shop that turned out some fast bikes in its day. Sadly both Robbie Meiklejohn & Ron Lafavre have passed away at far too early an age.

For the pipes, I decided the I'm going to leave them Stainless... no black paint.

Thanks for the info. It explain why the VIN is so short but a frame without any ID, never seen that.

I am powder coating almost every parts on the bike. To do the job I want demand tremendous amount of patience and work. As an example, masking small detail with a tape and a razor blade::

Carbs, ultrasonic cleaning and bead blasted. I finally like them!

Engine head... tough thing to do the lettering in red with black powder coat, I am still not satisfied so I will redo it again for the 3th time...

They are in your dropbox account and require a login (which you have, hence you can see them).

What kind of drain screw is that ?
350LC,Athena 392 big bore,stock porting,swiss cheese air box,stock reeds,spec11 pipes.(now TSA big bore pipes)

Stainless steel allen screws. I am using them all over the place except where high tensile strengh is required.
