RZ350 Primary / Clutch Side Cover Modification
Guys,
Over the past few months I have been building the tooling, engineering gaskets, and machining aluminum, to produce RZ350 primary, (right side), covers that have the ability to get to the clutch springs , and more importantly adjust the clutch release rod, without removing the complete primary cover, (2 hours work). Yamaha RZ's are probably the only engines ever produced that do not allow you to get to the clutch adjustment easily. Actually, Yamaha was going to stamp out the cover, but found that the engine would not past noise regs when they did. I did this project after finding Motion-Pro clutch cables that had different inner to outer lengths.
So, I built these for me, however, if anyone else would like one, email me at "image@alexssa.net", and I'll tell you how I can do your side cover. The cost will be $85.00 for anyone on the forum, $95.00 retail.

Very nice work Brian S.
Being on my second go round with a leaking "new" after market side cover gasket after replacing the clutch, this sure interests me.
Can you do this work to a powder coated side cover without damaging the finish to the powder coat?
I have 2 or 3 (can't remember) I had coated.
Also what Smoker asked, there be a clear cover available???
Thanks.

Clear Covers ?
Guys,
I'm only making the covers out of aluminum. There is no way you could make the covers out of GE Lexan, and come in at any decent price. The scrap rate would kill the price, and they do not seal as well, I already tried it. Just like if you want to remove the clutch, your better off going with the guy that does that for $300.00. This is a very easy fix for a "Blow-IT" by Yamaha. It takes a clutch cable / clutch spring change from a possibly 2 hour job down to 10 minutes, with a kit that is engineered as if it was OEM.
Thanks for considering it.

Machining & Paint Damage
I mount the primary cover on a special machined fixture, and hold it down by the original screw holes, so I never come in contact with the paint. If it was powder coated, I do use a very slight amount of WD40 to lube the cutter, but I could put a small amount of wax on the cutter instead. Please let me know when you send it, and I'll pay close attention to how I handle it. All my stuff is powder coated as well, I understand.

Shipping out of the country.
I can, if you are out of the country, and are able to handle the machining. Please email me at 'image@alexssa.net", so that we can figure out how to do it.
Thanks
Brian
