Quick and simple Street Fighter/Motard? Mods On RZ350

#1 Post by wicked motorsports » Sat Jun 05, 2010 5:11 pm

Hey guy's wanted to share one of our recent RZ Mods we done. had a customer complaining about he's back was starting to hurt and had to sell the RZ to buy something he could still Ride. I told him what about if i fixed up your RZ so you don't have to sell it and worry about being hunch over. He said if you could do that please do and I'm in for that plan. He just really didn't want to buy a heavy 4-stroke but thought he had to. So here's the Finish deal. What you guy's think? the dang thing is a blast!!! It wheelies like a dirt bike with the blip of the throttle sense your Body stand is more up right like a Dirt Bike. lol... So much fun!

A different look, but I like it. A great idea to keep a rider in the seat.

What kind of bars does it have?

That's why both of my project bikes have dirt bars. :smt003

I rode all over the place yesterday using clip-ons, and my neck is KILLING me today!

The bike looks good. Simple and to the point.

Im guessing its a simple bar swap, makes you wonder at how many people sold RD/RZs when their backs started to hurt, shame.

What dash did you use?

That bike is 100% streetfighter - don't really see much motard.

I like the seat idea a lot, if it functions as a back support. :smt038

Hey Guy's A big high Five !!! Thanks for the props! It was a pretty simple set up. Just had to figure out what to use. But it was pretty Basic. I used some things from a Banshee lol... The front Head light kit came from Trail tech for a Dirt bike light kit enduro up grade i guess. The Bars are Banshee Fat bars with for 1-1/4 Fat Bars with 1 inch rise and the bars are from a banshee so they sit higher than the Dirt bike ones. I used the a Dash from Trail Tech as well. Reads Perfect on the Speedo Went threw a speed trap the other day and it read perfect! loll..... Same with the RPM and Water temp. I agree with slinger it does kinda have the KTM look with the front panel lol. The seat worked out Awesome! I have my 84RZ with the same style seat and works bitchin! Keeps you from slipping off the back and working your back muscles trying to hold on.

If any one is interested I can get you the parts to make the same upgrade.

Love the look. Love the colour, pretty much spot on for a street fighter. Does the engine match up with the go? Whats it running?

Yes it's the Pick up for the speedo. Works off a Magnet and bolt that get's replaced in the rotor. Bolt did require a little machine work on the lathe sense the one they supply was a little to thick. Worked perfect thou.
The Speedo some how calibrated it self too as it say's in the instructions. Don't ask how but it worked lol...

Hey Crazydiablo. Thanks for the reply lol.... Glad you dig it. Right now at the time He's got What i think Are Toomey Pipes with some kind of welded on canister. the Motor is basically stock and I've jetted it and just did a clutch the other day from all the wheelies lol... for the most part It has all the new look you see and as well I powder Coated the Wheels Gloss Black with the BT45 tires 120-90-18 Rear 100-90-18 front.

he's waiting for it to blow up so i can build him a 421cc pro st cub I told him he better be ready!

I got his RD400 as well 1976 I'm doing up the Rare green one

and I also have a super Super super!!! Bitchen 1976 RD400 with some real trick Chassis Work done to it we did. Let's say there's a R1 missing a front and rear end now lol.... which the R1 motor ended up in a quad that we installed and We got the complete roller suspension. as well he's RD400 motor is going to be running a Banshee +10 stroker crank with a Banshee Ignition to can the factory ignition from a RD400. the CC will be a 425cc RD when done. I can't wait to finish that bike either! I promised him i would not post the pics till it was done. DANG it!

But if your near the area you can always stop by and take a look at it.
