Definitely.

I've always been sensitive to the flexing of the OEM RZ350 frame. Especially when hitting bumps/dips while cornering. Upsets the balance, and reduces the effectiveness of the suspension and tire adhesion. And I'm only 156 lbs.

I guess it depends how much you're using, but I'm thinking .125" wall is too thick.

I added a fair amount of tubing, but thinner wall than OEM, not thicker.

Should also mention that a good steering damper has been a great improvement to counteract the flexible frame issues.

Here is the frame I will use with an RZ350 motor. I don't see any reason for frame bracing with my application

I’ve already bought my suspension and and wheels so I’m sticking with the stock frame, tank and fairings, I may go with a aftermarket tail section. Although the trellis frame looks impressive (how do you get the motor out)? I’m going for the minimum amount of bracing for the best results; kind of what I have seen work 4 decades ago. I appreciate the input and I will take some pics and document it on here as I go because; someone smarter than me can hopefully point out my mistakes as I mock it up before welding.

The frame I’m using it doesn’t require frame bracing, but the ease of engine removal

I designed the bracing around the motor, so it can fit in & out without removing the head/cylinders.

Everyone should be able to see the ease of engine removal with the frame I’m using is easier than the RZ350 frame. Also the frame is an aluminum frame much stronger than the steel RZ350 frame. No need to go through the trouble of bracing the frame. If someone likes the tubular frame than buy an RZ-1 frame

Okay if ya wanna do it...some bracing around the
1.) steering head!
2.) Rear shock area,
3.) Steering stsbaluzer mount!

After that if you want to proceed with

1.) Engine mount area ( if desired)
2.) YES THE RZ FEAMYE CRACKS AROUND THE KICKSTAND MOUNT. Check the area.
3.)Variation of x tube bracing under tank area etc..

It's all been done...don't overthink it.

The 1st above ( steering/shock ) help ALOT! at speed.

RZ frame is perfectly adequate for s racebike...it is what it is 1970-80s tech...plenty fast, plenty capable.

Just doi it and be done w it👍

Look everyone. Yamaha has a frame with a brace. Yamaha probably thought it was adequate bracing with this frame. Now true this frame came with an RZ250, but it should be no problem installing an RZ350

I’m in the process of bracing now; It’s actually pretty beefy in comparison to the lc I just bought! I’ve done the steering head area (it’s very solid now) and the swingarm mount, I’m thinking of using tubes in the shock mount area (if I have enough clearance around the chain). I’ve heard about the front motor mounts cracking but I can’t find any info on bracing in that area (or the side stand mount) so I’m kind of stumped and really need some help at the moment.
I’m also thinking of taking it to Dennis at CMR when it’s done to check that it’s still all lined up straight and square.
