What a deal!

$400 for rusty, corroded, dented, POS pipes with silencers that look like they've been through a crusher.

Oh wait, they just have a little patina. Usually restored. :smt005

Mine were rough too but I only paid $275 shipped if memory serves. Mine weren't as rusty. The guy had them listed in Yamaha Exhausts on eBay and I found them by accident as it turns out. I fixed the dents by freezing them and painted them up. Also had to repair one can. Those appear to be salvageable with some work. The cans come up on eBay once in a while. I bought a spare set for $50. I have FPPs and Toomeys and prefer the FPPs overall though the Toomeys make more peak power. All that being said 375 seems a bit high with $35 shipping but not unreasonable if someone was in the market for a good period correct set of pipes for an RZ. Just my two cents.

I'd say "fair" condition is overly generous.

I have bought from him in more than one occasion. But you do have to look carefully at the pictures. Opinions vary. Are you referring to FPPs in general or this set? I personally think the FPPs are a very good expansion chamber.

Yes, FPP are good pipes, but it's hard to see the value machivmotors has attached to these pipes. By the time you sort them out, if that's possible, you're into them for the price of a new set of pipes. By the time you sandblast the rust off you'll have nothing left. Then you get to try to weld the holes and pull the dents on the paper thin metal that is left behind, if there is much left behind. Then you get to buy new silencers, and that will set you back a few hundred more for good quality silencers. Save the trouble and buy something new. If you have the money to buy and fix these, you have the the money to order a new set of Jolly Moto pipes from Jim Lomas.

Crook is accurate for Machivmotors. They are well know for selling overpriced garbage and then adding exorbitant shipping fees. Often the ridiculous shipping fees are not disclosed up front. One habit of theirs is to ignore combined shipping and charge a separate shipping fee for each item, but then put all of the items in one box.

I have never had FPP pipes. They have always looked like Toomey copies to me. FPP pipes probably perform fine. Those pipes on eBay probably could be put to use. But, like John said, there's not much left of the metal on that set of pipes. They are very pitted.

That "fair condition" - is that the urban dictionary term for "battered"?
