Ive no idea where the OP lives but if its a JDM RZ250R its probably a 51L cylindered bike. Feel free when you junk those cylinders to send them boring ole paperweights to me :)

The 51L has an extra (boysen) port that no other RD/RZ cylinder has and pipes/CDI/Carbs to match. it makes good power and revs for days as the engine is actually designed round the 250 size, not 350. pics of those ports on my 251LC build.

I agree with Martin, why not ride it as a 250 and see what you think?

The RZR also is full faired 1985 bike, if you live in the USA it would be rare cos of that by itself. In Canada the fact its a 250 makes it super rare. If youre in the UK, same thing. If youre in Aus then we had more 250s than 350s in 85 and ours are not 29L, so yours is an import. All that said, I bet you tell us youre in NZ... haha.
EDITED: Ive seen you are in the the Phillipines. Cool. Ive no real idea what bikes or the spread of them for your market, but i reckon this bike is an import. We need pics...

I also wrote a big bore primer on my site for those wanting to go for bigger cyls. Its all fits on the same 250 bottom end of course.

My website is now in limbo, the site builder software died last year and is long not supported and it corrupted the local files. I then stopped paying the bill but the hosting company never deleted it. Some bits no longer work which is fine, but the info is still useful Ive been told so Ive made no efforts to remove it.
the bike itself has been jacked by the previous owner, I do not know why the hell did he just pop some KAWASAKI ZX10R fairing style on them.

That looks like a good project bike. There are some "unusual" modifications.

What is the rectangular box, oil tank?

What is going on with that clutch cover in the center of the circle?

What forks and wheels are those?

That is quite a list of previous motorcycles.

Wow, now that has had some work done to it! Its amazing that he got all that to fit really. Interesting that under that work is a very standard bike in many ways, even has the original shock and belt adjuster.

Interested to see what you do with this Phantom, please do keep posting up pics :)

You mean this one? that's the battery, looks like some modification happen on it.

I do not know how or what happen all I remember is he's just doing some crazy stuff modifying the bike to his liking.

the fork are still the original if I reckon, those mags might have came from other bikes or an after market one.

well true indeed, but those will go away once I followed your RD/RZ 350/421CC instruction on doing a conversion mode.
Some may retain to be reused if deemed usable or some maybe put on a good place, get cleaned then framed or hanged on my home ceiling.

I will be posting pictures once the work will be good to go :)

I'll try to post videos of it too also

oh also the radiator have been changed by the former owner to some low class type which causing problem both on cooling and on the pump itself.

Well I was wondering what would be a better option radiator that I can purchase online or get from other donor bike, any suggestions?

I like to use a good clean stock RZ350 radiator with an R6 fan. Plenty of cooling.

Lots of RZ radiators available out of China. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R ... r&_sacat=0

(Note that for 421 you need a plus 4 crank in addition)

Cost wise the Alibaba kits are cheap as chips. That's why I suggested them to enhance a 250 engine with a low budget.
hmmm, question about the 421 kit is it worth pulling that one? how's the maintenance?
well since the project bike that I'm currently working with will mostly be used for some rides with my buddies not more on drag or something but more on some charity rides and vibrant place to ride for a good view point or should I just stick with 350/385cc kit instead?
