NOS and used RZ350 gas tanks on ebay

Just wow.

An NOS 1984 red/white/blue RZ350 gas tank goes for $1,500. Fair deal there.

But then a really good used yellow one sells for more -- has paint loss/rub and nicks above YAMAHA decal.

What is an NOS yellow tank worth then $2,000++ all day, right?!?

Jeez, Louise, I think I paid right about $1200 for my entire bike! Of course it had a poof-can paint job at the time, but it was complete and I had it running two hours after it came home with me.

Although the prices are high, add up what it will cost to buy a used tank, repair pin holes, install liner, fix dents, have someone other then me Prep & install decals and paint the tank. I bet you are looking at $800 to $1000 Cdn to have a piece of crap tank looking new again. I would not pay those prices but I would consider $800-1000 for a NOS in the correct color. I paid $400 for my entire bike in 2011 but those days are long gone!

Almost 2 years ago maybe more RZ's Unlimited had a NOS Y/B tank for $3000.

I still have the receipt somewhere from 1992 when I bought a new one at the dealer for around $450.
If only I knew to stock-pile them I'd be rich!
