Hi. I am just now viewing your project. Very impressive. Can you tell me where you sourced the fuse box?

Well, sort-of, but not really. :smt003

Correct pipes, frame, subframe & swingarm.

Other parts are mockup, for fabrication only. Engine, wheels, suspension, bars, clamps, black plastic, etc.

The tank could be interesting. Plan is one-off aluminum.

Source is my brain.

My own design. Had it machined from a block of aluminum.

If you mean the M-unit, they're all over the internet.

Don't recall seeing 1.25 inch OD stingers before.

Very happy with Jeff's advice.

Here, you can see the space for swingarm travel.

The actual fuse unit. I have not seen that one on the internet.

I have an mp4 file of the spring hooks being machined.

Can't post it on postimage.org. [smilie=dunno.gif]

Spring hooks are completed. Jeff will weld them when he comes back from Phillip Island.

Didn't know anything about electropolishing.

Jeff uses it for his science projects, and suggested it for the pipes.

Found a place, and trying to work out details. Got this response:

"304 and 316 both should polish up nice. I think it will be about $150 for all four pieces. Also, We will pre-treat the welds before we electro polish the entire part."

That's a lot of pre-treating! :smt003

I was worried it would cost more. It's in another league, compared to mechanical polishing.
Much safer in terms of accidental damage to the pipes. Should make a noticeable difference for gold nitriding the stingers.

Questo, those are electropolished JL SS pipes.

Smoker, my pipes were taken to a vendor we use at work for humongous stainless steel enclosures, beam tubes, etc. I had to be careful having them do the work because with a government job you are not allowed to ask for favors. :smt009

I looked up Advanced Electropolishing. They are right in the heart of Silicon Valley. If Jeff uses them for his projects I am sure they are good.

Keep in mind if you want to have PERFECT mirror finish this may not be the way to go. The finish is quite beautiful but hair line surface scratches and other flaws will show up upon close inspection. Versus hand polishing where you can eliminate tiny little defects by sanding and polishing with varying degrees of grit. I am fairly picky and perfectly satisfied with the finish on these pipes. There is a certain amount of hand prep they will do at the electropolishing vendor however, they are not you, and will work to their standards however high or low that may be. It should be high at that place.

BTW, the finish has held up quite well on my 500 pipes. :smt023
