That van sure does get around. I hope that cancer behind the wheels didn't infect anything in your driveway.

Did you buy the 'wing? I rode an F6B a few years back and was surprised how much I liked it, and how capable it was for a bus sized bike.

He did not park in the driveway. It was left out in the street so I think my driveway/home is safe. :smt005

Yes, the ‘wing is in the garage. I had to send Rory on his way so I could go pick it up Saturday. My daughter hopped on the back we went for about a 100 mile ride in pure luxury.

I spent about six hours detailing it Sunday and yesterday evening. It cleaned up really nicely and looks as near new as a 16-year-old motorcycle could. :smt023

It needs...tires. That's it. Well, maybe I should put an R1 front end on it and some 17 inch wheels so I can get me some sticky rubber? :smt021

I shall pollute this thread with photos soon. :smt042

Looking forward to the SV650 write up. How wide of a tire could fit in the FZ600 SA?

Hi Ken, I pulled into Calgary yesterday at noon. I had some challenges keeping that big old van on 4 wheels with the weather I encountered in the Rockies. I was pulling slowly, lucky to be moving up at all, a stormy mountain, and had to squeeze around a semi that was blocking parts of all three lanes. If I had stopped, that would have been it for me.
It was a pleasure bumping into you, bench racing and seeing your almost dozen bikes, at the time. Of course no GL 'til later that day. This forum has opened the doors to meeting a lot of great people and enthusiasts, both of which you are. Sorry about the communication gap. The Canadian does not appear on the digitally written page. We did manage though. Firing up the RZinger was a highlight that brought back the memories and got the blood flowing. Get that 500 on a dyno pronto for jetting. You'll be really happy you did.
Sharath, I did take some pics of Ken's master set-up on the rear of a couple of his bikes.
Other highlights, Livermore, of course, and the yellow beater favourite ride. Plus I met Jr. You have some fun projects ahead of you.

Redline, I think 150/60 is about it.

The wheel I purchased on eBay had a very crusty old 150/60 on it that I used for the initial fitment. It was questionable and I almost went to a 140/70 or something. That old tire was essentially touching the chain and I was thinking I might have to do some horrible things to make a 150 fit properly. However, I purchased new tires and the new 150/60 I put on is giving me about 1/8 + inch clearance from tire to chain. Plenty of room. BTW, the 18 inch wheel I took off was 3.5 inch wide. This wheel is 4.5 inch wide. Pretty big difference.

JonW, thank you for the kind words. I am attempting to provide a little entertainment value here.

BTW, back at you. I enjoy your detailed write ups and posts also. :smt008 You are a great writer. I have to use pictures to tell my thousand words. :smt037

The next fish/deer post...hmmm, maybe in a year or two?

And thanks to Rory (RZ bro) for the kind words also.

I am so glad you got home safe. :smt023 :smt023 :smt023 :smt023 :smt023 That was quite a journey you embarked on.

I was thinking 150/60 as well. My SV rim had a 170/60 on it when I got it and was WWWaaaayyy too wide for the FZ SA.

I enjoy this thread too, nice to see some have a full 12 month riding season. Winter sucks!

No ride for me today cuz work :smt010

But my son went for a ride with his friend.

Here is a photo of their 2 bikes up on Morgan Territory Road. The red bike was brought home new yesterday by it's proud new owner. Pretty thing, isn't it?

Image

A while after he left I got a call. Can you help bring Wes's bike home?

Way up at the top by the park Wes missed a turn. The last turn before the park entrance. He's OK with some serious rash and bleeding on his left knee, mangled up foot, probably more. So off to a rescue.

The bike has 44 miles on it. :smt009

Very sad for the young lad but he's really quite lucky. This was not a good first ride road. He picked a good spot to crash. He could have been down many a steep cliff of embankment had he fallen elsewhere. It could have been much, much worse.

Oh, and last week another riding buddy of his got cut off and hit here in town. Totaled his bike but somehow he escaped serious injury. Witnesses say he did some sort of a flip and landed just right.

I hope that's the last of the crash stories for a while. :smt045

That's a real nice land yacht you got there Ken. :smt023
I assume it comes with heated seats, air conditioning, reverse gear, and a backup camera too! :smt044

Sorry to here about your kids friend. That's not a good way to break in a new bike. :smt018 Glad it wasn't worse.

I assume it comes with heated seats (NOT YET), air conditioning (WELL, IT'S A MC AFTER ALL), reverse gear (YES), and a backup camera too! (GREAT IDEA) :smt044 (HEATED GRIPS)

Charlie

I changed the road in my post to correct the one Morgan Territory Rd. Yeah, the more I think about it the more I am thankful his wreck was not a whole lot worse and how lucky he is. The two worst body parts were his left knee and foot. He was wearing jeans and tennis shoes. :smt013 I tried not to lecture him too much on the way home but he did get some. Regarding gear, not trying to keep up, go into turns slow and accelerate out, target fixation, etc.

Thanks for the kind words Ken but sorry to hear of this accident. ouch! Still, as we all know, if youve never crashed, you cant be a biker. Not much consolation, but... Anyway, hope he heals up fast.

Ken,
I keep seeing this cool little video of you popping up all over Facebook on the 2-stroke pages. :smt023
Was that a car show you were at or something else?
