Uploading pics. What is the best service now??

Re: Uploading pics. What is the best service now??
Honestly I would be happy to pay a fee to have pictures hosted on the site to make it a permanent part of the post. If upgrades to the hardware/hosting are required to make it function properly that could be calculated into the fee. Running this by the 500 side (same server I presume) might generate enough interest to make it feasible. What would be really nice would be a program to capture existing offsite links and import those images as well, but that would likely require consent of the person who posted them.
Re: Uploading pics. What is the best service now??
I host mine on my own site, I just made a folder called photos and then use an FTP tool (its drag n drop once youve connected to your hoster) the pics over, then use the web addy of the pic with the IMG and /IMG tags, ie both between [], one at each end. 2 Easi... as we say here.
To do what I do you do need your own webspace, but lots of hosters give you some for free with your internet package these days. And while you need to be a bit more tech savvy that using say photobucket, its simple when youve done it a few times.
As for what you guys want to do here, that might not be so simple as the space and connections may be an issue, plus working out the money can be a pain too. Some other forums do have pic upload, one per message mostly. I do know that Jeff who works with Tom on this site used to have pic upload on the old version of our twostrokesdownunder forum, but i think after the move we lost that. I didnt use it so dont know.
FWIW For those using old pages with old photobucket pics you can still view them with a browser plugin, worth using.

Re: Uploading pics. What is the best service now??
no! if we all gave up posting pics then the forums would die...
....and once again... no! please save us from Facebook. Im 99% ready to ditch that POS, the inane BS that people put on there, the ads, the mishandling of data (87million users data compromised just this week etc) and not least that youre giving away searching for specific topics and finding threads. Its NOT an option to replace any forum.

Quick update on Photo Bucket. Seems they are broke and want some customers back. From $500 to $20. I think if they had tried $20 first up they might have had more success.

Good Luck with that.
