Got out for a nice ride today to scrub in a new set of skins for the RZ. Had a buddy and his son tag along for the ride too. Had to stop for coffee first, then made our way up the Columbia River gorge on the Washington state side. Turned off the highway and rode up the Washougal River to Dugan Falls. Then back up the gorge to the Bonneville Dam and fish ladders. We crossed back to the Oregon side on got on the old scenic highway and stopped at Crown Point. About a 120 mile loop. The bike ran great, and had more than a few people asking me what kind of bike it was. :smt017 :smt003
I wanted to take more pictures, but I was having too much fun riding!! :smt023

Always great pics from your rides Charlie. It's so beautiful up there.

Very cool the father son duo. I would love to go for a ride with my son, but insurance rates for him to ride at his age are astronomical.

Thanks for sharing. :smt023

Went for a ride with my buddy Mark on his GT 550. The weather was a perfect 70 degrees with lots of sunshine. We started out at a new coffee shop in St Johns called the "Two Stroke Coffee Co." It's a great place to meet up before a ride, and lots of bikes always showing up. Had lots of people checking out our bikes and taking pictures too. Met some other guys that have some classic 2 strokes also.
Mark and I swapped bikes for a bit on our ride up in the West hills around Portland. He used to have a very nice RZ years ago and hadn't ridden mine since I've done all the mods to it. He had a smile on his face after getting off of it and said I did a good job of sorting it all out! :smt023 I had fun riding his bike too. It accelerates pretty hard, handles like a tank, and doesn't stop for shit. Makes me appreciate my bike even more!! :smt003

Here's a few pics.

Lance has a very tricked out RD 400, and Jessie has a very nice 95' NSR 250 SE. :smt023 We did about 80 miles on our ride on the back roads to Sandy OR. then over to the Columbia River Gorge up to the Vista House. Sorry no GoPro today, just some pics. Great time, great guys!!

Yeah, that RD is really cool!! I saw it at "The One Show" a couple years ago. It was nice to talk to him about the build and see it in action. :smt023 :smt023

Went for a ride to the World Museum of Speed in Wilsonville today for the Coffee & Cars gathering they have every Saturday. Lots of bikes and cars to see.
Though not quite as many cool ones as Ken gets down there in Cali. :smt039 My buddy Rod rode down there with me on his nice VFR 1200.
It's been quite warm here lately, (in the 90's) so it was a short ride on the back roads to and from with a stop at the river for a couple of pics. :smt023

Yeah, that scooter streamliner thing :smt017 :smt017 :smt017 But at least they are out riding (or scooting).

I too would be partial to that red on red wagon having grown up in a 1964 Ford Galaxie 500 Country Sedan station wagon, 289, 3 on the tree with OD. I love seeing them restored and/or hot rodded like that.

Yesterday up at the junction 2 VFRs pulled in just like your friends. Man those sure are nice bikes.

Great photos. Thanks for sharing!!! :smt039

Yeah, when my buddy got his VFR it was all stock. The exhaust sounded like a hissing snake when he would rev it up.
And he didn't like how the DCT tranny shifted either. He swapped out the stock exhaust for a proper pipe and had the ECU modified.
Now it runs and sounds great and shifts a lot better too!! :smt023

I got a new Ram mount for my GoPro camera like this.

Image

Its got a nice clamp on it that grabs on to the frame where there isn't much room.
I still need to try a few different locations to cut down on some of the vibration/shakiness.

So, here's my first test video. :smt003

How do you like the Session? I've been thinking about a GoPro for a while and really like the size of those. They aren't as feature rich as the top end ones, but less than half on both price and size. The nice thing is that if you find it is getting used enough to want a higher spec one you can use them together and sync them for multiple views. What frame rate and resolution were you using on that video?
