I use helium. It makes the wheels lighter so I can ride faster and the bumps aren't as bad.

Not a joke. I have a PowerTank for off roading the Jeep and air at the track w/o a compressor. Enough capacity to run air tools too. And why fire up the compressor at home for a couple PSI?

Oh I know certain forums (Bad Weather) who totally buy into these binary theories. But in the real world they can't ride for crap.
