Couple of pics from our trip to Valencia to see the final race of the season.

Hanging out in the garage, checking out the bikes.

Gloating? Hell no.... we can never get enough of the "behind-the-scenes" pics :smt002

I've been there too - back when the GP circus used to visit here at Laguna Seca. Here's a pic of my wife with her best race-face on, :smt005 aboard Suzuki's last GP bike, back in 2010. That's my oldest son to the right, checking out the exotic bits under the bodywork of a back-up bike :smt103 [smilie=dribble.gif]

So yeah.... more pics pleez

The nice thing about european GP's is the teams have their entire hospitality suites setup.

Image

A place to rest and put your feet up, have a hot meal and a cold beer really made the weekend that much more enjoyable.

The promotion of racers extends all the way down to the placemats. :smt003

We were allowed into the garage during a practice session, which was pretty cool. It was interesting to see the team at work up close and hear/feel the bikes started up at close range. It is a well choreographed act.

I have no idea all of what the data shows or is displaying but there sure is a lot of it.

Tires, tires, tires ...... and more tires.

This fuel appears to be specifically blended for the Honda.

A few days after the Valencia race we flew up to the Czech Republic to hang out for a few days.

Casa de Abraham, on the left, overlooks a beautiful valley and town less than a kilometre from the Brno Circuit.

I actually didn't know Karel had a supermoto until we went into the garage. Love the decal scheme. :smt023 Someday I'd love to get the chance to go riding with him. I suspect that could be a ton of fun. :smt003

Away from the racetrack hanging out with friends.

Karel took us to a gorgeous old Czech town ... which I have no idea of the name. We stayed in the green hotel in the middle of the pic.

Image

From there it was on to Prague, which is an amazing pace that just has to be experienced first hand.

After Czech we drove north into Germany to Berlin.

The Brandenburg Gate at night

And Checkpoint Charlie

South of Hamburg we visited an 800 year old church that contains a spectacular painting of one of my ancestors. He was the first person to bear our last name. The painting is circa 1730. We were greeted by the church pastor as well as the town's mayor and historian and given the celebrity treatment.

From there we drove to Amsterdam for a couple of days of fun and debauchery. :smt030 :smt033 :smt044

I have some more but it is things I don't want to post on a public forum. Its not for me to show that stuff. If Karel wants to post pics that is his prerogative .

We did get to hear all kinds of inside scoop and dirt on the goings on in the MotoGP world. You'd be shocked at some of it.

Being on the edge of the inside means that I don't betray the confidences of my benefactor. Because if I do I will find myself back outside in an instant. And being inside is way more interesting than being outside.
