+1

I work in a shop now. There are 3 other shops in close proximity, and many of the clowns from those shops, test ride bikes in the back alley, with no helmets on. One car or truck pops out in front of them, ????? something fails???? Idiots. If we, at our shop, are seen testing a bike with no helmet, instant release. No questions asked. I love the integrity of our owner operator.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I can't remember if I or any one else mentioned, WEAR YOUR SAFETY GEAR.

As I mentioned, I would not have ridden home that fateful day had I not been geared up.

I have since gotten my leather jacket rezippered and will not be riding without leather from here on out.

Enough preaching.

Residual effects exactly 2 weeks later...rash is almost 90% descabbed, left hip is still sore with a huge knot/bruise still present, and another 8 inch by 2-3 inch bruise in the hamstring area, left side ribs a little sore. I finally went to the doc to have him look at the knot because the swelling was not going down. As suspected he said it will take several weeks for the blood to be absorbed. Mentally I feel like a dumb fuck for crashing. :smt013 It should not have happened.

On to more important things :smt003

The bike now has a new 7" round headlight with a steel bucket mounted on cast alu fork mount brackets. Looks pretty good :smt023 These parts came from a MC parts importer in SF and got here in 2 days. Waiting for honk kong cheap turn signals to arrive. Waiting for china koso knock off to arrive (really hope that thing works :smt042 ). Waiting for replacement tarrozzi rear set parts to arrive from fast from the past. Straightened bent left toomey. I have done some rookie scab patching on the glass tail piece. Patched and sanded the front fender. Still deciding if I want to do a complete bodywork makeover or just change the tank, finish patching the glass tail, and do a 1 or 2 color home paint job on it. I have a complete painted 84 body set that could be mounted up to this machine, but the RZ front fender will not fit the fzr forks. This bike is a bit of a thrasher that is extremely fun to ride (pretty much every weekend), so I don't want to go overboard on cosmetics. Probably will save that body work for one of the "spare" RZ's in the queue. So this yel/blk machine will more than likely be a permanent "naked/cafe/streetfighter" type bike.

I hope you snowbirds get to get out and ride soon :smt004

Stay safe :smt023

Probably getting the first ride in today, watching your video was a good primer. Roads up here are still very sandy until we get a few good Biblical rains to wash them clean.

Glad you weren't hurt too bad.

Here is a 2 part gopro video I did 5/4/14. F*cking computer fought me and would not let me save it as a single file. I've done much longer videos than this as a single file. Oh well, this is better for the folks with the short attention span. Another video is forthcoming with snapshots and regular camera video.

Where were the Suzuki triples that came last year?

And we need more RZ's and RD's next year.

Those (hooligan) Kaw triples own this ride.

Enjoy

You guys might have seen my posting inviting peeps to ride to San Jose for a stunt show.

By golly, the response was just overwhelming :smt009

So I rode out all by my little lonesome.

It was quite entertaining. I think they had other bikes come out after I left.

Here is a taste of what I saw. Not quite what I expected.

Oh yeah, there was one person there that rode in wearing safety gear. Guess who??? My improper dress had me feeling a little out of place but I enjoyed the show none the less :smt038

Enjoy :smt037

Here is a some clips from a couple rides in early October 4 and 5 2014. Part way in to the second half is a nice result of yet another Mines Road victim.

Today is the infamous Dirt Bag Challenge. Sadly there were no takers from this forum to ride up with :smt022 Probably because of the freezing cold weather. It may only hit about 65 F (burrrrr) here today so we will have to dress really super warm :smt045

So I will be riding up with a dude from work. Me on the rat bike 350 and he on one them BMW things with the cylinders sticking out the sides :smt005

Stay tuned...

Here is a teaser pic of framemakers entry taken just yesterday

2014 Dirtbag Challenge :smt005

There is an audio clip at about 1:50 that is NSFW. :smt018

Something about MF’rs, a term I have never heard before.

Enjoy.

Here is a short "almost" new year ride video. [smilie=scooter.gif]

At the beginning it should have said testing my new phone, not new camera.

HAPPY NEW YEAR Be safe in 2015 :smt023

It was a nice ride and a beautiful, warm, February day! I love going to Alice's! On any given weekend there are tons of beautiful and unique cars and bikes there.

PS.
I didn't want to move my bike up with all of you attention grabbing two strokers becuase I was trying to fly under the radar. You guys were the stars of the day!

Even though the weather was brutally cold today (about 64 degrees F with a windchill of about 59F), I braved it and took some photos out on a nice relaxing ride :smt006

Lots of green and yellow was the theme of the day :smt045

64, brutally cold? We have idiots up here doing polar bear dips in holes in the ice in 20-25 degree weather wearing only swimsuits. People in Calgary wear shorts and sandles when the mercury hits 32, and I'm not kidding. Short sleeve shirts as long as the sun is shining.
We like the sun when it comes out.
