Help with putting a price on parts

#1 Post by subxero » Tue Oct 21, 2014 9:57 am

So I recently bought a project bike, it came with some take-offs, and extra bits that the previous owner had bought in plans for their restoration. There are some things that I don't anticipate using for the route I plan on taking the bike, therefore I would like to sell some stuff to get a little cash to help with my project.

The problem, I am at a loss for how much some of this stuff is reasonably worth :smt017 There is little info available on the web for me to get a baseline for many of the parts, let alone factoring condition of parts.

In short, I want to sell some things and I don't want to get hosed and at the same time I want to be in a reasonable price range.

If someone knowledgeable on such matters would like to help me out I would appreciate it. I could send you some pictures of the things I have or something along those lines and give me some ballpark feed back.

I think most of the stuff I have is nickels and dimes but there are a handful of parts that might actually be worth something and those are the ones I am looking for some input on.

Thanks in advance.

Ill need to snag some pics tonight, I really only have pics of 1 item right now. A dash cluster. The guy said it works, But the only thing I could really check at the moment is that it lights up and maybe the revs. My bike is not in any condition to ride it or run it for any extended period of time to check things like temp and speed ect... But it looks really clean other than 2 cracks in the clear covers which is pretty common. Ill probably end up trying to get some pics of it working to help with value.

I have a rear fairing that is cracked a little on the left side on the tab and down the side a bit at the tab where the grab bar goes through. Nothing terrible though. I have a complete rear fender assembly with taillight, signals and what not that appears to be in decent shape, will need some TLC though.

Well here is a pic of the dash cluster, ill get some more pics of a few of the other things tonight or tomorrow when I have a chance.

I haven't 100% decided to sell any of this stuff yet, I guess some of that will depend on if it is worth much. If it is not worth much I'd probably just end up hanging on to it incase I do end up wanting it for something.

Just to clarify I am not selling anything through this thread. Just looking for feedback so please don't send me offers at the moment. If I decide to sell any of the items, they will be posted in the FS section with prices attached. I may even try my luck on flea bay with a few of the items but on the other hand I do hate giving them some of the money so time will tell.

Ya, I'd be happy to get $100 for that unit.
