Thanks Mark!
I am at just under $300 for the conversion counting the NOS factory brake lever that I just ordered on eBay. All the parts except for TDR's beautiful adapters are used eBay procured. The blue lever that is on there now is worn at the pivot point and not my cup of tea... I am looking at an NOS cap for the master cylinder as well as the chrome one looks out of place to me on a bike with no chrome except the grab rail.
I recommend this conversion to anyone with an RZ. Everything is pretty much bolt on other than the brake switch. I just cut the plug off the harness and stuck it in my stock master cylinder and put the correct ends for the R1 switch on the wires...I can't believe the difference in braking....

Tacky- what's the bore size on that FZ8 master cylinder?

I believe it's a 16mm bore.

These are for US forks with stock RZ350 rotors and adapts the Blue Dot & Gold R1 brake calipers to fit.

$150.00 shipped in the US.

Anodizing & Powder Coating is an option for $ 25.00 extra. I can also do a carbon fiber Hydro dip.

PM me if you are interested or e-mail me tdrinc@embarqmail.com or call me 941-505-0800

Pictures on the Anodizing & Hydro dip will be up in a few weeks.
What year range for the R1 calipers am I looking for?? Thanks.

The ones that have the side bolt configuration 02-08 R1.

The bolt spread on the fork mount is 42.0mm

Not sure but if the bolt spread on the caliper bolts is 42mm it should fit.

LC and early RZ should be same. I haven't read if these are for the early or late RZ forks.

I did this conversion back in September and kept meaning to post about it. I can't recommend this upgrade enough, what a dramatic difference. :smt007 Per a suggestion further back in this thread, I went with the FZ8 master, calipers, and hoses. It all bolted right up except for the union in the brake line where it splits from 1 line to 2. The angle of the fittings means it won't bolt directly in place where the RZ unit hooked up. I modified a simple L bracket from a hardware store. See pic. My solution doesn't look great, but then again, neither does the rest of my bike.

One word of caution if you're re-using the master mounted mirrors -- some of the FZ8 master cylinders have the threads for the mirror, and some do not. I can't tell if the threads are just capped off on some of them, or not drilled/threaded at all. So pay attention when purchasing and make sure the item your purchasing is the one pictured. I ended up using an H7 (I think?) headlight-type plug for the brake light wiring. Not a perfect fit, and not watertight, but it worked for me.

And as far as Tony's adaptor plates go -- top notch quality and perfect fit. Thanks again to Tony for making these adapters available, and to all who have posted on this conversion and shared their knowledge.
