I've got the same gauges and had an idea to do the following but never really got to it with kids & family always taking up my time.
I grounded out the low fuel light so it never lights, but that gauge has a nice function. When low fuel light comes on it starts a new odometer trip so that you can see how far you've been on reserve. Handy to know if you know about where the reserve will give up.
My thought was to simply connect it to the stock RZ fuel tank valve. When it is on "ON" the wire would be grounded, but switch to RES and the wire would not be grounded and suddenly light up and start the trip from 0. Basically just a handy reminder in case you go to RES just before parking for the night or a week, and then get back on and suddenly it's clear it is on RES just from looking at the gauges.
Maybe your new tank has a reserve sensor already and just hook into that, but if not and you still have a manual reserve this would be a nice mod.
Great bike.
