Ooooh I wasn't expecting such a prompt repy after a year of no posting, sir
Cheers for that, I have been relaying emails with 2moto where I believe some of the work was done to your bike, about what's possible and what isn't and indeed I'm just trying to source projects that have been completed a couple years to see how they've faired.
When you say it's rough in traffic, in what way like, spluttery, jittery? It obviously has plenty of low end grunt I should imagine more than a standard YPVS. Oh and how is the cooling going. Could it sit in traffic on a 95 degree summer's day? (not that we ever get over 80f in blighty )

Barry @2moto made the engine front subframe & the exhausts, everything else was made by me.marlow wrote:Ooooh I wasn't expecting such a prompt repy after a year of no posting, sir

The exhaust are "top quality" & I have since had a further 2 more sets made for other bikes I have modified, John Hay's LC485, and the other an RZ500.
I would recommend Barrys exhausts to anyone.
John Hays LC485, again I modified the ignition, jetting plus made a few other things,
All the Body work & cooling, ect....
"As for running rough in traffic" I didnt say that.
What I said was that it was hard work. It wants to pull from almost nothing (rpm) It just wants to get up & go, it's not a town bike.
Its not spluttery, jittery, or got the fuel frothing that some people talk about, it has never had anything like that, as I have set the engine up correctly as I have been building race engines for over 30 years.
Cooling is fine thanks, however I wouldnt want to "sit in traffic on a 95 degree summer's day" on my MV Agusta or any other bike come to think of that.
If you are after a road bike engine get a 397 or 387 something conversion as they use the std "Yamaha cylinders" as you can retain the power valve system oil pump ect ect ect
It will save you a lot of money in the long run, then if you like the bigger bore engine then look at it again at a later date.
contact either Roger @ Wicked and talk to him about this:_

Alternatively contact Glyn Slinger he is also a clever chap & builds a good motor

In my humble opinion, £ for £, as a road bike 70-80hp is more than enough fun.
Hope this helps.
Sorry, but I dont want to be rude, but I dont like posting much these days so I will disappear again.
Thanks for your interest.
Good luck with your bike.
As they say in Russia, I "Moscow"
Best regards
