I'm glad to hear that, because if I had reviewed the thread I would have realized that you were ahead of me on all suggestions. :smt023
To me this one is the most unique builds by a country mile.

I notice the brass hammer on the pic with great satisfaction.
(Didn't I tell ya that you need to hammer the cones to get a perfect fit?)

How will he retain the polished surface after rolling tacking and some decent hammering? Re-polish before final welding?

How were the sections cut? They look very clean and precise, water jet?

That's neither laser nor water cut.
My guess: Either electrical or hand operated tin snips paired with appropriate skills.

Ha, ha!! :smt003 Yes! I still have a lot to learn. Making good stuff with help from you guys.

Those urn pieces were CNC laser cut from a solid tube to 0.01" with alignment markings - and they do fit together perfectly. Too bad they were .5 degrees off on the angle!

Not sure. Guessing re-polish after final welding. Looking for full polish finish.

Again, not sure atm. Just guessing the rough cuts were band saw (stainless dust and flatness of the pieces) and the finished cuts were grinder/sander (pieces somewhat deformed).

Bingo. I looked harder and the electric shears are in the back of the one picture, explains the twist on the blanks. I couldn't imagine cutting that much stainless by hand and being that consistent.

You did this all on your own Smoker???? That is very impressive! We take forever to build pipes ever from 5 or 6 pre-rolled cones!.

The headers were fabricated by Jeff Henise.

Yes, would take me a VERY long time. :smt003

Actually it's easier to roll them the smaller the cones are.
Just the grinding, tacking and welding takes a bit longer...

Got shot down at the local machine shop. They only have old machines and limited capability.

Need to revise my plans for the header spring hooks.

Should have new drawings done tomorrow.
