Trying to get back to working on this bike. Been working mostly on the RZ500 and WR250X lately.

Not long ago (in this thread) Sebspeed gave me a nice piece of titanium to use for the battery box.

That small titanium plate has been on my mind since then.

I wanted some thickness to the plate, so there would be plenty of gold (ti nitride) showing around the borders. But thickness adds weight. And it was the weight that kept bugging me.

So, I did this:

Now, less than 0.5 oz. :smt003

Not one-off, or even titanium- but if I can order pipes like this from Japan without having to ship my bike- I think I might be satisfied. Don't know, yet.

Noticed that the bike in the pics has 18 inch wheels, but I can raise the ride height with my suspension mods (I've converted to 17's). Thinking about a serious inquiry.

Only other concern is front wheel clearance. Need to measure the difference between stock, and my GSXR front end conversion.

I did try to contact this company recently, got no response. But, I might have a contact in Japan to help.

Ask them if they do this one in Ti.

They do for their other versions:

Got a message from that pipe company in Japan. Got shot down on my request for RZV500 pipes.

Was going to contact them about these "karly kustamupaipu".

They list the pipes they sell with info and price. These are the only pipes where the info is crossed out. Still there, but has a line through it. The above photo was taken 10 years ago. The pipes used to sell for $1,299 usd.

I'll still ask, but looks like another no go.

Looks like all photos are back.

Was worried all the photos I've hacked will now stop working, but so far, all is okay.

Could be a few more postimg photos to hack, but I'll fix those, too.

Had to modify the titanium pin on the steering damper frame mount.

Screw got stuck in the pin. I got it out, but it was a pain.

Decided to cut slots for a 12mm wrench.

Just started chopping this swingarm (for the 3rd time).
Realized that I needed to adjust the dogbones all the way up, then chop.

Have to get this bike ready for pipe fabrication. Much to do.

Jeff is moving fast on the supermoto pipes. Hoping I can drop this bike off when the other bike is done. Haven't discussed details, though.

Engine plan is dry clutch, +7mm crank, 421cc stock cylinder.

Want to get started on the engine.

My cylinders are on the mockup engine, so I got another set.

These are nice ones. Unmodified, with stock bore.
