This should be interesting- I am waiting anxiously to see what you are widening that frame to accommodate :: grin ::

Would you by chance be interested in getting rid of the "Ho Hum" RGV250 swinger? I am going to be looking for one fairly soon (week or two)

S10,

Now we're talking - it's nice to see someone elese who is crazy enough to cut their frame for a wider swingarm/tire combo.

So give me some detail on how your threaded rod set-up worked. Any problems, things you'd have done different? Do you think that it kept everything located while you spread the frame?

I'm interested becase I'll be spreading my frame by an inch or so to fit my new swingarm and 180 wheel combo. I'm looking for a set-up that will hold things square while I jack the frame out.

Let me know things worked for you, I was going to try the same type of setup.

Thanks
Jeff

I haven't been able to work on it lately. From what I've cut so far the frame hasnt moved at all. I'll know better when I get to cutting and cleaning up the frame this weekend.

I've been busy with work - out of town alot. Decided to take some time away from the bike to do some fun things to the car (LT's and a tune).

Here's a pic just for fun..

Charlie,
Not a bad looking arm, certainly a simple arm to work with. From looking
at your pictures I'd guess an hour, hour and a half to fit it to the RZ
frame without doing anything to the frame at all. Was cutting the frame
just to add alittle more challenge to the conversion. Looking forward
to seeing your project when it's done.

Thanks Steve!

I originally went with the '03 swingarm to narrow it. 8" is within the legs of the arm and I do not want to alter the swingarm. I know it sounds crazy because I'm altering the frame, but after I considered frame bracing it's not all that much more work.

I "lost" a set of tarozzis so I'm in the market for a set of rearsets again.

Are you willing to alter a set (modern yamaha) to fit an RZ?

Thanks.
Charlie.

Charlie,

Sounds doable on the rearsets, what did you have in mind?

I'd like to make plates to work with these:

Charlie,

Did you just want adapter plates that would bolt to the frame that the
foot peg brackets bolted to, or completely new brackets?

Adapter plates to replace the ones for the R6. Willing to do so?
PM me an idea of price or time involved and your rate and I'll get the plates out to you.

Finally!!! There will be some YAMAHA parts on that bike after all. For a little while there Charlie, I thought you were turning it into a Suzuki. :) But what the hay... they are nice parts, regardless of what they came off of.
