I had the same problems with K&N filters, Couldn't get the flat spot out, Switched to Uni foams and problem gone.

Closed ended filters have been known to cause turbulence and can make tuning a chore.
I've always gone with foam uni filters just to eliminate the possibility.

As mentioned previously..the K&N type, at the beginning of this post that are about 8"-10" long, have virtually zero problems, None whatsoever, on Banshees. I'd fit the longest filters you can on a RZ frame, or just use UNIs. Pretty simple & end of story?

I run the short K&Ns with hard caps and pipes. No issues. I ride like I stole it. No flat spots. It hits hard and pulls.

These are what I use on my LC and they seem to work great. Mine are the 2-stage version w a red outer filter.
