He brazed the pipes with silicon bronze and states they'd come apart at the seams in "long term use".
I don't know what a land speed rider would consider "long term", but for sure it's much less than a long term road use.
Thanks, Martin.
At this point, I'm not considering using bronze rod on all the seams, just on the tip and tail. If I get any cracking, it shouldn't be a big deal to fix - depending on anodizing or TIN coating.
If I could get chambers anodized like 4-stroke titanium pipes, I might not need any bronze rod.
Now trying to make a jig to hold the silencers in position for welding the brackets.

Working on connecting the silencers to the SXV exhaust tips.
Finally struck me that I don't want custom bent tubing.
I want the stinger sections to look like the cone sections.

i like it
you might want to avoid sharp corners in the pockets with the use of radiused end mills .
even a small corner rad of 1mm will help with the stresses put on this part.
Just FYI.

Hard to see in the pics, but there is a small radius on those corners.
Good point, and the machinist did it without me asking.

Everytime I look at your work, I can't believe the quality, level of details and dedication you put on your project(s). It is just awesome, I wish I could approach that one day. Can't wait to see the assembly.
In doubt, full throttle!

Thanks.
I wish I had more time to build bikes. My job eats up my (non-working) spare time, mostly with misery. Building bikes is my escape.
Yesterday, I cut a 6061 0.125" x 2.0" bar to exactly 5.178" using a hacksaw and file. Took all morning. Thought it would be faster than waiting for the machine shop. When it was done, there was nothing cool about it.
Designed some machined cut-outs and took the piece to the shop.

Hey Smoker ,do you have room for a small smithy combo lathe/mill in your garage?
you could most of the small stuff yourself.

I checked out the Smithy. Thanks for the suggestion.
Unfortunately, no room in the garage. Already have one bike, and almost all spare parts, in the house. Almost no furniture in the house, just boxes of motorcycle stuff.
Also don't have time to learn how to use the Smithy. While I'm waiting for the machine shop, I can still work on other parts/bikes.

Quick preview shot. Better pics soon.
The center hole is slightly out of alignment with the teeth. The center hole will be covered with a nut and lockwasher, that's why I centered the mods on the teeth.

Getting closer to welding the silencer brackets.
Need to cut the lateral supports and machine recesses to match the OEM subframe brackets.
Need to cut a 43 degree angle on the cross brace to fit it properly.
Also designed an aluminum strap which will bolt on, to align the silencers and the bolt holes during welding.

Cut the pieces for the silencer brackets.
Need to jig them up for welding.
