I still want a solo cowl. I just don't know where to get one from. I asked one guy glassndude to make one, but he keeps blowing me off.

http://www.rzsunlimited.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has complete cowl and the hold-down brackets.

As with all the plastics for these bike......they don't came cheaply.

I see the cowls on eBay from time to time in rough shape. A crappy beat up fiberglass reproduction just sold for $125 USD

It's easier to find entire complete RZ350's that have the cowl than it is to find the cowl only.

Those look really close to OEM. I ordered a pair of the stainless reproductions from RZsunlimited. They should arrive any day now. I'll post a pict of what they look like when I get them.

I bought an Airtech one through Rory, picture here; viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11880&hilit=Airtech&start=255" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I already had brackets and pad from CruizinImage. Since I don't have OEM rear signals and the Airtech seat doesn't have the hooks, I don't use the O-rings and it hasn't been a problem so far.

Stock mounting brackets / RZSUnlimited
The black ones are original.
The unpainted ones are stainless made by RZSunlimited. They look like they should do the job nicely and they included some O-Rings.

Those look great. I’ll try and get a set as spares. The black paint on the asian reproductions comes off almost imediatley so i reckon stainless steel ones are a plus. I’m going to get an airtech piece and paint it at the same time as my extra gas tank. I just wonder why the are useing polyester resin instead of epoxy resin like the rest of the world? I do know from experience you can put epoxy resin on top of polyester resin but not the other way around.

Just so it clear- in the top picture that shows 4 brackets, the black ones 1st and last are OEM original. The two in the middle are RZSUnlimited. The second picture is a better picture of the originals.
RZSUnlimited said they do paint work there as well. The pictures he sent of painted parts look like they do some really good work. They clear-coat over the decals when they paint the plastics vs Yamaha only clear-coats the tank.

I haven't had any luck with getting a Solo Cowl. Airtech said they don't put the keyhole on their cowl. For a roadgoing bike that can be an issue. Are there any other options?

I am currently making molds for the solo cowl.
As I have got a project for 2 customers making 350YPVS parts, & was asked if I would also make the solo cowl while I was making the other parts.

I collected a brand new still in the box never fitted Replica (fiberglass) cowl from a customer just before Christmas.
I have had to modify it a great deal, as it would never have fitted on to a bike as it was trimmed incorrectly, ect ect .... (it was shocking)
So I discussed this with my customer & he very kindly loaned me his RD350 YPVS so that I could modify it so that would fit his bike properly before I made the molds.

Image

The angle of the cowl didn't match the side panel on either side, also the panel gaps needed to be altered.

So after a lot of modifications the cowl now fits properly so I am happy to continue making the molds which should be finished later this week.

Image

cowl now matches the angle of the side panels.

It also has the key hole in the correct place, as that also had to be "moved"!
So the hole will leave a slight imprint in the mold, so I can cut the hole and it will be in the correct place.

As discussed with the Moderator I will post a thread later in January once the molds and parts are made.

I hope this helps

Best regards
Johnny C.
