One stage vs two stage. You can color sand out either to make them smooth as glass and perfect. The clear coats are better now for UV protection. Before they were a problem because they would break down in sunlight and yellow. They use two stage now because its cheaper not better. Anything with pigment costs more to make. If you prep your parts good before shooting, either style paint stages will come out great. Post pix when you are done. I am about ready to reassemble my cheap arse paint booth and shoot my project too. Practice on panels before you put your finish coat on and I'm sure it will look nice.

Hi guys, I have just acquired a good 84/85 RZ tank that needs a little body work. My question: Does anyone have pictures of the original paint scheme from all angles to make sure I am setting up the graphics and black areas correctly. The width of the white and yellow lines are hard to judge. Does anyone have that information they would share?

This is the last item to finish my 85. My existing tank rusted thru and damaged the paint. Wasn't too happy with the graphics placement the painter chose either. I want to get this one right.

Thanks for any assistance.

rd350lc.net is a good place to start for pics of colour schemes, but really it would be nice if Xavier did a folder of pics of original paint from as many angles as can be found for each bike... maybe we should ask him.
