Powervalve Controllers

#1 Post by Headcoats » Sun Nov 06, 2011 5:23 am

How many powervalve controller boxes are there for the 350 YPVS ?

Also do they have different setting for when the PVs are fully open ?

Been told my F2 box doesn't fully open the powervalves until 10300rpm :smt010
My bike makes peak at 94000rpm :smt013

Not to get off topic but what does a Zeel go for? I looked online but couldn't find any pricing.

From Martin Kieltsch's book. The 1WW would be the same as the 1UA.

You should be able to put an early model 350 controller in to get right where you need to be at 9400 RPM. Unless the 94,000 you wrote is correct, then we can't help you, but NASA will want to talk to you. :smt002

MODEL STARTS OPENING @ FULLY OPEN@

31K 5500 RPM 9450 RPM
1WW 6000 RPM 10200 RPM

For Comparrison here are a few others

TZR250 1KT/2MA 5850 RPM 10050 RPM
RD500 47X/1GE 6150 RPM 7950 RPM

I'd be interested in knowing how to tell one RZ/RD350 PV controller from another. As far as I can tell they all look exactly that same and have no markings to tell one from the other.

Without Zeel Ian Booms bike made 66bhp with Kennys pipes
That's with
Mick Abbey Tune
Mod on standard PV controller
standard ignition/timing
standard carbs
airbox
V force 3
standard un skimmed head

That's plenty !!!!!

There is a thread in here somewhere on how to reprogram the stock one. There is a series of mini switches that need to be adjusted kind of like lock tumblers to get the desired effect. I guess if you are into electronics it may be easy but I was intimidated.... :smt017

It sounds like some of us should take our ignition computers apart to compare the circuits. Mine is a stock 83.

I had a US 92 FZR 1000 with a cutoff in the collector and it was controlled by the same looking rotary controller as the RZ. It was controlled by the ign computer. We found that the Canadian ones had a couple of jumpers that were different. I bet the RZ has similar differences in the ignition computer.

Lol

That is the most useful PV controller I've seen in a very long time.

Talking to someone today and suggested just getting the Zeeltronics powervalve controller to do all this ?
Can i keep the Yamaha CDI and use the Zeel PV controller to change the pv openings ?
