run non-resistor spark plugs?
I am changing the spark plugs and caps on my thrasher bike. It's been a long time, but if it ain't broke why fix it? The caps were just resting on the plugs, so new ones are in hand.
In going through my inventory of spark plugs I found some non-resistor B8ES. I don't know where they came from.
What would happen if I ran these non-resistor plugs just to consume them?
Or shall I bin them?

Resistor type plugs are to eliminate/limit ignition noise.

it might interfere with a vapor style digital speedo doodad.

Re: run non-resistor spark plugs?
You can run them as long as the resistor cap's resistance alone (5K Ω) is sufficient for the ignition but you will gain nothing.

You want a resistor... somewhere.
The resistor makes the spark hotter and the spark duration longer.
... and the resistor eliminates electronic "noise" that can screw with electronic devices.

List of things that I got into issues due to EMV (caused for example by using B type plugs):
- Digital water temperature gauge
- Zeeltronic VCDI
- Ignitech DC CDI P2

Thanks for the replies!
The bike I would put these in has a bicycle speedometer (works but freaks out at about 60 mph), LC mechanical tach, the blinkers don't flash, etc.
The caps I bought are resistor caps so I will give the plugs a try.

They should work just fine.

I remember first hearing about the resister plugs when I was quite young. They were for less radio wave interference. Now they minimize computer interference on board.
