2 pole, single throw kill switch?

2 pole, single throw kill switch?
Hey guys,
For those of you that have a PVL ignition. I'm setting up my race bike, reading through the documentation from PVL, it states I need a 2 pole, single throw kill switch. (2 independent ignition coils)
From what I can see, all the kill switches I can find online are single pole. I'm looking for it to strictly be a kill switch with no starter button etc.
Anyone have a lead on a 2 pole switch?
Thanks!

Just wire the two leads to one switch.
All that switch does is momentarily goes to ground.

I spoke with TDR, and he did this once. The issue being if I do that there will be electrical interference from each coil to each other through this wire.bitzz wrote:Just wire the two leads to one switch.

I'll just use the kill on the one coil. The carbs will be set to NOT idle, so this shouldn't be an issue.

How about abusing a map switch?

Those map switches are single pole (2 wires). I would need 3 wires. It would be 2 Hot wires (+) going into the switch and then when you flick the switch, both get grounded (3rd wire).MK wrote:How about abusing a map switch?

Re: 2 pole, single throw kill switch?
Using two of them would be the closest I can think of.
Other than selling the PVL and buying something programmable ...
Wait: How about grounding either the source coils (85 RZ's do that) or the pickup signal?

If you are worried about electrical interference put a diode in the circuit.

You will need to kill both cylinders in a wide open throttle, stuck, situation.

Re: 2 pole, single throw kill switch?
You could wire your stock kill switch to relays that would ground the coils independently. Something like this:
RZ350 with FZ600 swingarm, FZR600 wheels, front end and FZR400 bodywork.
Re: 2 pole, single throw kill switch?
Or mount one of these under the tank.

Re: 2 pole, single throw kill switch?
I suspect the reason they recommend a 2 pole switch is to minimize their liability if wiring both coils through one factory switch fries due to not being able to handle twice the amperage as stock.
