Anyone else making power valve cables? OEM $$$$$$

#1 Post by flattracker60 » Wed Feb 22, 2017 8:34 pm

I have an '84 RZ350 with a broken PV cable.

I called dealer, said $52 retail.

Is that my only option?

Never had one of these break....broke right by the servo motor under tank.

Thanks

Thanks Jon.

Whats the procedure for any adjustment needed for that servo? I'm afraid the cable broke for being out of adjustment or something.

Any ideas?

After the servo initializes when the ignition is turned on, the slot in the power valve arm and the hole behind it should align. I would check if the power valve is not too hard to turn.

I would also check the PVs, the motor is very very strong and usually you only snap a cable if the PV is gummed up. Adjustment is easy, take a look at the haynes book of lies, it details whats needed.

Of course your servo could be US, it happens, but its less likely.

I should have some spare cables if you require for far less than OEM pricing. Not new but not binding. Hard to believe could even snap one, they are short and relatively thick.

Both black and blue cables are available from Yambits for 11.66 lbs each as well as the pulley.
Hope this helps.
I have purchased many parts for my RD350LC from them and not had a bad experience.

Buy the OEM cables, I bough a set of spurious cables and they were total junk, I couldnt get the PVs set properly no matter what I did, I would run out of threads on the adjuster,
Buy the OEM cables, well worth it..
