85 RZ350 CDI/Stator/Rotor combination
I have been looking for an additional flywheel for my 85 RZ350 before I sacrifice my existing one for research purposes. My flywheel is marked 51L-50 (see photo) on one side and 1EY on the other (see photo). My CDI is marked 52Y-50 (see photo). It appears that these two items are indeed from an 85 RZ350. However, my stator is marked 1EY and I cannot find any information on this. Does anyone know if this is an 85 RZ350 part, or if it is even compatible with my electrical system? It came on the bike, which is running, so that’s a good sign I guess!
Maybe someone can give some insight into this. These flywheels seem very hard to find, so if anyone know the whereabouts of a spare one I would be grateful!
If I can’t find another flywheel I am thinking of just running a total-loss system. My build is for short runs only, less than 10 minutes at a time. I’d just need to make sure that I have a battery that can handle the requirements. Does anyone have any info on the coils and how much power they consume? I figure I could work out from that what Ah battery I would need to accomplish this.
Thanks

Re: 85 RZ350 CDI/Stator/Rotor combination
https://www.perthstreetbikes.com/forum/ ... ost2732552 <------Found this:
The 85 52Y- 50 CDI will work with with the 84 rotor and 84 stator if you exchange R/Gr , S/W at S/G
The 85 52Y- 50 CDI will work with 85 rotor with 84 stator if you exchangeR/Gr , S/W at S/G
The 85 52Y- 50 CDI will work with 84 rotor with an 85 stator.
Can't find anything on a 1EY stator, but it sure looks like an 85 stator...w/ the 2 big low speed coils...i think the 1EY, might be to match stator w/ 1EY mark on rotor as confirmation?, but51L-50 is 51-L50...so it's got to be an 85 rotor, but i have found 1CY (83~84 rotor) and 1FY (88 rotor).
"The 85 stator is marked ÈZ or 8DX. The stator has two somewhat thicker load coils. Safe distinguisher of the 85 stator is the red-white cable at the load coil, which is always red with both other stators! A further indication is the missing connector for the "load coil" (looks like you have the red/white wire..so 85 stator), which into three individual plugs (brown, green and red-white) is divided."
So, either 84 or 85 rotor... doesn't look like any wire changes needed for that combo.

Great info, thanks for that. Now if only I could find one for sale!
None of the Banshee stuff is compatible I assume?

I think I have a spare one. Please give me the numbers again that you need on the Fly Wheel.

Rob,
A 29L-50 would also work.
Thanks
