Parts Identification

Next week I am going to pick up the last 2 RZ's in the hoard I bought.

In the following pictures I have already bought home all the RZ specific parts.

What is left is parts from other machines. I know there is a TZ tank pictured. Should I snag that? I am sure somebody can use it.

The two machines that I am about to pick up I plan on modding. I see some USD forks and wheels that I cannot ID. Possibly the forum brain trust can. And maybe I can use some of these parts in my modded build.

See what you can ID from these pics, please.

The tank is worth a couple hundred if it’s decent inside. Someone would definitely appreciate it.

The forks look mainly gsxr. The ones with the gold calipers and reservoirs are 85/87 gsxr. Not worth anything.
Silver USDs look like 90-94. Black ones. Not sure

Most of those wheels are gsxr/sv650. 4th one in is a 90-93 zx6, then some 80s cast

I think maybe some extra info on what all you were told was there would be helpful. The wheels for instance could easily be GSXR/SV but they could also be TZR as it is a common shape. The latter may have some value.

What are these 2 wrapped frames? The forks closest to the edge of the tarp look 90-95 GSXR but at the same time also look a little different which could make them more interesting. Think you need to do a good dig to make sure you know what you are leaving behind!

Leave nothing behind! You can always throw it in the dumpster later.

The only thing I had to go on was a few pictures, initially. After I arrived (5 hr. drive) I find various parts that were not directly RZ related. SO I made a deal on the RZ bikes & parts. The seller is not or was not aware of the origination of anything present in the pictures. SO I am on my own here. The real issue here is that I do not have any experience with Kawasakis, GSXR's and TZ's. I guess I am not very well rounded in this arena. I come from the dirt bike world, and am very well versed in ID of those parts. The street side I am extremely lacking!

I guess next week when I go back to finish the deal, anything that has a Yamaha casting will come back home with me...

There's a set of fork legs that look like first gen r6 beside the wrapped up forks, they have compression and rebound adjustment, excellent right way fork if you want to keep a build looking period correct, should try to find the matching triples if possible.
There's also what looks to be a fz600 swingarm but it's the newer version not the first gen that's needed to easily set up on our rz's (dog bones linkage is different) I wouldn't bother with it.
The first wheel in the row is almost certainly sv650, a great wheel for a 17" conversion. If that's what your planning I wouldn't leave it behind.
The black swingarm is tz250 4dp or newer and the wrapped frame beside it looks to be tz250 92 or 93 because the sub frame looks non detachable.
The other wrapped frame is probably another tz250 frame but a newer version as the sub frame looks to be detached so 94 onward and there's also another tz250 swingarm there to go with it.
Tz stuff usually sells very easy so I wouldn't leave any tz stuff behind, that said I would be interested in a swingarm and possibly a frame if the price was right.

Deals like this is what many of us dream of, awesome find and good luck!

Are you saying this arm is a TZ250 arm? I happen to bring it home with me the first trip. Thought it looked interesting! Could not find any ID marks on it though.

Yes that is a a tz swingarm, pretty light isn't it? The other one is clear anodized and wrapped up in plastic. Had another look at your pics and those green rims are tz too, you can confirm buy the cush rubbers as Dana says, they will also have "closed circuit use only" written on them. DON'T leave those behind and if you have no use for them, I'd love to have first crack at them :smt023

some of the forks have seen some abrupt reduction in forward motion. :smt022

I might be interested in the TZ swingarm if you don't want to keep it.

At this time, I do not plan on keeping any TZ stuff. Although I reserve the right to change my mind. That TZ tank would look good in my man cave!

I do know there is some RD400 (as well as a complete RD400) stuff there as well as 2 rollers & engine parts of VF500.

Will be making the trip this Friday.

I made the trip for the last 2 RZ's. Picked up a few parts too...

I want to thank Nokturnal, Too Stroked and Evan_Calgary for taking part of the first ever TZ Parts Identification Network Id marathon, most likely the last too!

AS I stated I did pick up a few parts. Some have been ID'd, some not. This particular item was not. The experts were stumped. And so was I. But it looked interesting, so I snagged it. No wonder the experts missed ID'ing it. It is not from this country...
