TZR350 is now done.

A stock TZR250 1KT, 2MA or 2XT weighs around 280lbs dry and 330ish wet
so with the 350 engine swap it might weigh a few pounds more.
Then again the custom Slinger pipes weight much less than stock ones
and I removed the passenger pegs, mounts and a few other bits.
The engine cradle also made by Slinger is aluminum compared to the
stock steel cradle so I bet it comes in under 280lbs.
The engine and electrics are 1987 RZ350 with 1UA ported cylinders, shaved head,
30mm Mikuni round slide carbs with 260 mains and 40 pilots.
TDR reeds and foam pod air filters.
2XT wheels that are wider than stock so rides like its on rails.
Very few mods other than relocating the shifter, rad and electrics.
No issues so far with 1000km on the bike, goes like snot !
I think a stock TZR250 has 50ish hp, the 87 RZ has 62.
The 350 RZ engine in this TZR should have around 70-75 hp,
weighs about 45lbs less than a stock RZ and I think handles better.
I will post more pics and info. in a few days.

Back in 2009 I shipped the TZR250 roller to Slinger in Nova Scotia so he could
build me a custom cradle and set of pipes.

I used the stock TZR250 cover with stock RZ350 "guts".
Just had to cut out a bit of the back cover to fit the RZ wiring.

In order to use the stock TZR250 shifter I had to put a small
dent in the pipes for clearance but once it was hooked up there was too much play, Doh !
Decided to drill a hole in the peg bracket and go with a stock RZ shifter.
Shifts smooth and lines up fine.
May go with rear sets if my old knees can take it.

Not sure if this steering damper is needed but it does keep
the bike stable when going over rough spots and pot holes.

Aluminum custom cradle fits well.
It has no mounts for stabilizer bars
but the stock TZR250 only has one tiny bar
and I have not had any issues when I ride hard.
Runs nice and cool with the stock RZ rad.
Also used a stock RZ rad on my YamaGamma
and it ran cool as well.

2XT wheels are wider than stock TZR yet look identical.
Allows for a better selection of 17 inch tires and performs
much better than a stock TZR, really hugs the corners.
The 2XT was a limited edition TZR250 released in Japan in 1988.
I think the cylinders were different, so possibly faster and handled better.

Hi, seen your bike at Shannonville opening round of VRRA, looked awesome! Sorry we didn't get a chance to chat as I wanted details....pretty well informed now, thanks for sharing.
