84 RZ350 Front Fork-Damping Rod HELP..

#1 Post by 248tc » Fri Apr 12, 2019 10:06 am

Hello fellow 2-Stroke enthusiasts.

I’m in the process of making some suspension upgrades to my 84 RZ350N, Racetech Springs/Gold Valves Emulators up front and Ohlins shock on the rear.

Can anyone tell me what the “tolerance” is on the Fork Damping Rod surface, where the “rebound check valve rides) After having the holes welded for the Emulator mod, unfortunately my welder knackered up the surface of the rod, while grinding off excess material(creating low spots)🤬 He then filled said low spots with braze, and after benching those down, the surface less than perfectly true.. Now I’m questioning if the slight irregularities in the surface will effect the Rebound check valve functionality..
It appears that the parts are no longer available.. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your reply,
Cheers, TC
