I would prefer stock paint, but it could be a lot worse.

It was less than a mile from my house.

The Reader's Digest version:

I just got done restomodding a basket KH400 triple. My 2T enthusiast buddy asked me about it, and I said "Yes, it's done ... turned out nice, but I'm gonna sell it and try to find an RZ". He says "Oh, I know where one is ... this guy comes into the store (he's a cashier at Trader Joes) that has one he wants to sell, right up the street ... I'll send you some pics". He sends the pics and I can see it's an LC not an RZ so I decide to pass.

As my search for an RZ gets a bit more desperate, I start thinking about the LC again. After bleeding the brakes on my KTM 300 yesterday, i take it for a shakedown ride past the LC guy's house and he just happens to be standing out front. I've never met the guy before, so I introduce myself and inquire about the bike. He says "Dude, your timing couldn't be better. I need to be out of this house tomorrow, and I got nowhere to put the LC until I move into my new place on the 1st".

So we go thru the usual song n' dance, and settle on a (very nice) price that we are both satisfied with and now the bike is in my garage.

Evidently it was meant to be.

Not exactly, but it looks great in the pics, right?

It hasn't run in a loooong time, but at least it's (almost) all there.

Will need lotsa love, but all the stuff that's usually thrashed or trashed is still there. Rear fender and plate holder, rad guard, turn signals, center stand, airbox, etc. Only thing that's missing is the tool kit as far as I can tell.

All the cables, rubber grommety things, consumables, etc will need replaced, but at least I've got a template how it's all supposed to go together.

Hopefully the outer crankseals can be replaced without splitting the cases, coz I'm sure those are shot.

Anyways, no buyer's remorse here!

Good story and akind to what I went through to discover mine distance wise. So being id'd as a Japanese model, are you thinking Japanese colors (interestingly Japanese version is referred there as the "RZ350" so you got you wish lol) or just keep the Yammie competition yellow scheme?

Although this yellow speedblock style paint is in great shape, I would much prefer the standard white with blue stripes.

If you require the white paint code, I have that available. Went Marsbar instead.

Not at all - Here's the info based on 95% of a pint.
MPB-LVCQ-4577
Cameo white
MT-84LV 343.7 MPB-500L 535.1
MT-40LV 343.8
MT42LV 345.6
MT-48LV 347.8
The colour is originally a Madza white but auto manufactures in Japan appeared to borrow from each other.

Yes, tires are Dunlop TT100. Can't find a date code on em but guessing mid 90's.

The seat looks JDM but whats the first 3 digits of the VIn on the left side of the engine or the right side of the headstock?
Congrats BTW.
You will be surprised what a blast it is to ride and how RZ-like it is.
The cases do have to be split to change the crank seals.
