Tire Recommendations?

#1 Post by nortoncafe » Mon Jan 07, 2019 4:13 pm

Looking for tire recommendations for road / track day use. Any suggestions?
I have standard wheels and the bike is pretty much stock.
Thanks!

A lot of the guys in the local vintage race club use BT45s. I like BT45 for the street.

Avon tack tires are better for track only, but $$.

BT45s work well for semi aggressive riding. Bridgestone S11s are good for the money for someone who may not ride too aggressive. I’ve run both but prefer the BT.45s.

roadriders and BT45 are the most common and what everyone used/were debatebly the best until the contis came along. The Contis are the 'best' vintage tire on the market right now but are in limited sizes and more expensive. Otherwise it is a toss up with the Avon and BTs. Both are good and down to personal preference.

+1 Classic Attack
We have them on the Yamaha RD/LC Pro-am revival bikes in the UK.
They are fine.

Hope that helps

Looking online for the Conti Classic Attacks

I believe the sizes I require are:
Front: 100/90 x 18
Rear 110/90 x 18

I cannot seem to find a front that matches that size, only a 90/90 x 18. Am I missing something?
Thanks guys!

Turn in with be better with the slightly smaller 90/90/18 front.

I would do 90/90 and 110/80 if it were me.

AH hell no. Stock size please. one up on size makes the bike lazy in the turn, heavy and a sudden drop during turn in. 90 front 100 rear. ONLY. PLEASE!>!

I hate 110 on the rear of an LC did you know the wheel is only a 1.85?~!
Official LC whore.
