I had a spax shock fitted to my '80 RD350LC years ago, it was a a major improvement on the stock shock. Spax are still making suspension components, I'm sure you could contact them and get some help/advice.

Unspoken question being:
Does it actually Need rebuilding?
Is it Leaking?
Has it lost it's pressure
Large chance that it doesn't require work.
Not like Motos get a lot of mileage... certainly not street ridden fragile 2 strokers.

I know they make shocks for British sports cars.
Emulsion most likely.
Do they have gas fittings on it ?

the shock does not leak but has no pressure, compression dampening is minimal rebound is strong.i replaced it last year with a nitron and was thinking about selling the spax but no fittings for nitrogen.

Then it's like a condom.
Dispose after use.

Rebound control is THE most important function of a shock. Compression is a lesser function
Can't be all that knackered then ?

the shock still worked fine it was just undersprung for my weight and cranking in more preload makes it harsh.the nitron is silky smooth in comparison as they set them up for your weight even if your a fat bastard.plus it just seems wrong to go year after year without rebuilding the shock ,my dual sport gets freshened up every two years and you notice the difference.
