Mono shock question
Mono shock question
Hi my LC came with the wrong mono shock installed, its too long. When the centerstand id down both tires remain on the ground and seat height is 4 to 5 inches higher than I would consider normal. I bought a replacement it has a Yamaha sticker on it that reads " Yamaha monocross suspension "de carbon" system. it also has a partial part number of 22U-00. I could not cross reference the part number so is there any one that has the over all length of the stock shock? i would prefere to know it is the right one before I install it and find out it's not the right one.

Re: Mono shock question
Your best bet is to at least try the new one, you'll soon know if it's the right one, from memory, what you say is written one the shock sound's about right, you've got nothing to lose by fitting it!

Re: Mono shock question
The stock # is 40-22210-10. The attached photo is the shock on my bike. The shop manual gives you the dimensions if you wish to order new (eye to eye 216 mm, I believe) or compare to the one you have for proper fit. Suggest contacting Elka in Quebec - consult with Sebastian. You send them your old shock (4LO) and they build one to suit the rider.

Re: Mono shock question
Eye to eye measurement is 315mm.
22U relates to an XV500 Virago.
